“A male subject said his wife was shot. The line disconnected. He wasn’t really cooperative,” the dispatcher said.

The dispatcher later called the scene “a massacre” when requesting more units.

When officers arrived, they found the bodies of the four women identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as Majeda Kassem Tinley park il, 59; Halema Kassem, 25; Zahia Kassem, 25; and Hanan Kassem, 24.

They took a man, who is believed to be the husband and father of the victims, into custody at the scene, where they also recovered a firearm, according to the local reports.

A neighbor who knew the family — made up of the husband and wife, the three adult daughters, and two grown sons — said the news of the grisly crime was “shocking” to wake up to Sunday morning, given that the victims and alleged killer were “such a good family that had a bright future.”

However, Maggie Mohammad, a cousin of the Kassem’s, said Majeda and her husband had a tumultuous relationship.

“She had all these kids for him. She wasn’t allowed to leave the house. I used to come and sneak her out. He told her not to talk to me,” she said, according to fox32.

Authorities later identified arrested an individual, the father of the house for carrying out the shooting.

Halema Kassem is the eldest of three daughters of Majeda Kassem Tinley park il and her husband, Maher Kassem.

She was shot and killed by her father during his rampage of January 21st 2024 in which he killed his wife and three daughters.

Halema, according to an online fundraiser to build a mosque in the slain ladies’ honor, was a pharmacy graduate working towards becoming a clinical pharmacist.

She was also a Palestinian advocate who also fought against domestic violence.

“Halema Kassme, one of the twins, was a soon to be pharmacy graduate with the intention of becoming a clinical pharmacist,” the fundraiser read.

“Halema let out her creativity through henna art. Her smile lit the room, and her hand carried the excitement to express her creativity through henna. She always put in extra effort to satisfy her family and friends.

“Halema was not only a Palestinian activist but an advocate for anyone that was in need of emotional support despite her being a victim domestic violence. Anyone that interacted with Halema knew how gentle and soft her heart was,” it concluded.

According to neighbors of the Kassem’s, she and her twin sister Zahia were high achieving and had massive dreams in life.

“My daughter knows them,” neighbor Charlotte Vaitkus told the media.

“She went to school with the oldest son, and she employed the twin sisters. She always talked about how they were all very intelligent, and they had very high goals in life.”

Zahia Kassem, similar to Halema, was a daughter of Majeda Kassem Tinley park il and her husband, Maher Kassem – she was a twin to Halema.

“Zahia Kassem also known as Zee and a twin that graduated as a radiology technician and planning to take her exam in less than a week,” the online fundraiser for the family provided more details on Zahia.

“She was an outspoken, lighthearted soul that would win a anyone’s heart with her charismatic personality. Zahia made it a goal for both herself and others to look and feel good about themselves. Zahia was an ambitious woman who always accomplished anything she put her mind to. One of them being her dream to go to umrah,” it said.

Hanan Kassem

Hanan Kassem was the youngest daughter of Maher and Majeda Kassem and sister of Halema and Zahia who also died in the senseless Tinley Park shooting.

She was the youngest of the family aged just 24.

Hanan Kassem was getting her education in speech pathology. She was always a helping hand and had her special way of making people feel like they belong.

She was always so thoughtful and considerate with her supportive words. Her heart held a special place for her family, and she will be deeply missed.

Similar violence – the case of Watson Morgan

Majeda Kassem Tinley park il suffered a similar fate to the family of a police officer known as Watson Morgan.

Watson Morgan Bronxville was a police sergeant from New City, New York who killed his entire family.

The Bronxville Police Department sergeant and his entire family were found dead early Saturday, December 30th 2023 at their Rockland County home.

Police believe Watson shot his entire family – his wife Ornela Morga, his two sons aged 10 and 12 – and then turned the gun on himself.

Clarkstown Police sent officers to a New City home on Clydesdale Court shortly after midnight to perform a welfare check, the department said in a press release.

New City is located in Rockland County, approximately 30 miles north of New York City.

The welfare check at 10 Clydesdale Ct. in New City saw the responding cops entering the home around 12:20 a.m. where they found all four people dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Police later identified the parents as Watson Morgan, 49, and Ornela Morgan, 43, and said the boys were ages 10 and 12.

According to the department, the 49-year-old father was a police sergeant with the Bronxville Police Department.

“At this phase of the investigation it is believed that Watson killed his wife and two children, prior to killing himself,” an updated release from police said.

Police also said a gun was recovered at the home.

Watson Morgan a 16-year veteran officer of the Bronxville Police Department who held the rank of Sergeant.

He started his career with the New York Police Department in 2000 and joined the Bronxville Police Department in 2007, serving until his death this year.

He was promoted to sergeant in 2016.

Watson Morgan was assigned to the Bronxville Police department’s detective division in June of 2015.

He held a degree in social sciences from Dominican College and received teacher certification.

Tinley Park (formerly Bremen) is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States, with a small portion in Will County. The village is a suburb of Chicago. Per the 2020 census, the population was 55,971.

German settlers became predominant in area by the 1840s, and the village was established in 1853. The Village was called Bremen at the time. Irish, English, Scottish, Canadian, and other American settlers were also common in the area.

In the late 19th century, railroads expanded rapidly, and the village happened to be located on the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad line.

The influence of the railroad on Bremen was so great that, in 1890, its name was changed to Tinley Park in honor of the village’s first railroad station agent, Samuel Tinley, Sr. Even the village’s official incorporation took place at the train depot on June 27, 1892.
