“Larissa left behind a legacy of love, joy and determination. She was known for her captivating personality, always bringing smiles to those around her. Her presence lit up any room and her contagious energy will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her,” the statement added.

Local Brazilian media confirmed the version of events, revealing Larissa Borges, a native of the Federal District of Brazil, had been hospitalized on August 20th after suffering from cardiac arrest while traveling in Gramado.

She subsequently went into a coma, where she remained for a week while her family provided updates on her condition on social media.

Just as it seemed she might have a chance, disaster struck as she suffered a second cardiac episode and passed away shortly thereafter.

Cause of Death

According to the Brazilian publication El Globo, Larissa Borges family is attempting to raise funds to help with her funeral costs, particularly transporting her body from Gramado where she died to her hometown.

“Any amount, however small, will make a difference and help ease the financial burden facing the family during this very challenging time,” a family member wrote.
