Dr Ash Gordon Box Hill was a Doncaster-based Australian doctor who was stabbed and killed by a gang following a home invasion.

33-year-old Dr Ash Gordon died after being the victim of an aggravated burglary at his Sargent Street home in Melbourne’s north-east.

He was found severely injured on Eildon Street at 5.30am, less than a kilometre from his home, and died at the scene.

Two teenagers were later arrested andcharged with his murder.

Dr Ashley Gordon Box Hill was a 33-year-old Australian doctor killed in a home invasion in Doncaster.

Initial reports, which did not identify him, said Homicide Squad detectives were investigating the death of a man in Doncaster in Melbourne’s north-east.

Police said the 33-year-old man was found on Eildon Street at around 5:30am on Saturday morning, where he died at the scene.

Inspector Carlie Kohler said that while the circumstances of his death were still being investigated, police believe the man was the victim of a home invasion shortly before he died.

“It is understood that this male was the victim of an aggravated burglary on Sargent Street in Doncaster before being located,” Inspector Kohler said.

“I want to reassure the public that we have increased out patrols and our presence in the community and we will continue to do so.

“This is a tragic set of circumstances, and our thoughts are with his friends, family and community.”

The deceased doctor was later identified as beloved Dr Ash Gordon of Box Hill.

Dr Gordon, 33, obtained his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Monash University. 

He was a member of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners as well with a practice at 810 Whitehorse Road Box Hill, VIC 3128.

His bio on Healthengine.com said: “As a doctor in Box Hill, Dr Gordon delivers invaluable expert support and guidance throughout the patient’s treatment. 

“He is passionately interested in Dermatology, Skin Cancer, Cosmetic Medicine, Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine. He provides consultations for IV Nutrient Therapy as well as minor surgical procedures,”

It further described him as “a highly experienced doctor with an excellent professional acumen. His broad medical skills are complemented by his excellent communication and listening skills which are appreciated by his patients,”

A fuller biography of Dr Ash Gordon Box Hill on his website reads: “Dr Ash Gordon is an Australian trained doctor who has had experience in many facets of medicine. He currently works in general practice and has special interests in skin, anti-aging and aesthetic medicine. He has undergone further training with regards to dermatology and aesthetic medicine.

Dr Ash Gordon Box Hill was identified as the victim of a home invasion in Doncaster that left him dead.

The doctor was stabbed and hit by a car after he took on ‘a gang’ who robbed his unit.

Gordon was left to die with horrific injuries in the middle of a Doncaster road.

He was found severely injured on Eildon Street at 5.30am Saturday, less than a kilometre from his home, and died at the scene.

Dr Ash Gordon Box Hill reportedly chased the robbers in his car after they had taken shoes and laptops from his property.

A neighbour who did not want to be identified told The Age that there had been a party attended by teenagers at a property on Sargent Street about 5pm on Friday, near where Gordon’s body was found.

“Things got a little bit noisier and worse towards 11pm, and they were running up and down the street,” the neighbour said.

Meanwhile, flowers and tributes were left at the scene on Sunday, with loved ones calling Gordon a “true gentleman” and remembering his “intelligent, honest, compassionate” nature.

“Gone way too soon brother, I truly thank you for all that you helped me with,” a friend wrote.

“I don’t think any of us can ever make sense of this. Tragic.”

Neighbour Trent, who did not wish to share his last name, said Gordon was a nice and “productive” person.

A skin specialist, Dr Ash Gordon Box Hill was the founder of Redefine Aesthetics in Richmond, which offered skincare and cosmetic treatments to patients in Richmond and Box Hill.. 

He previously worked at the Box Hill Superclinic. 

Suspects arrested…

Two teenagers were arrested and charged with murder following the death of Dr Ash Gordon in Melbourne.

Ash Gordon was found on Eildon Street, Doncaster, at about 5:30am, less than a kilometre from his Sargent Street home where an aggravated burglary had taken place.

Victoria Police say two 16-year-old boys were arrested on Wednesday.

Both teens are alleged to have been involved in a confrontation where Dr Gordon was fatally injured.

They have also been charged with aggravated burglary and theft.

The teenagers will face the Children’s Court at a later date.

Serious Crime Division Superintendent Janet Stevenson said ongoing support will be provided to Dr Gordon’s family.

“We know that Ash’s family and loved ones are grieving,” she said.

“This arrest will not take away the tragedy of this dreadful situation, but we hope that it will alleviate some of their distress.”

The story of Dr Ash Gordon Box Hill bears remarkable similarity to that of Michael Yung.

As we reported, an Adelaide couple, Karem Aydin and Jacinta Davila, were arrested for the murder of pediatrician, Dr Michael Yung.

The duo allegedly attacked inside Dr Yung inside his $2m Gilberton home on Monday, December 10th, leaving the 61-year-old with life-threatening injuries.

The father of two sadly died from his injuries.

Karem Aydin, according to his LinkedIn account, studied at TAFE SA – South Australia’s largest vocational education & training (VET) provider – between 2017 and 2019.

According to its profile, TAFE SA is the largest provider of vocational education and training (VET) in South Australia which delivers more than 1000 courses per year at campuses across the state. 

He claims to have gained skills such as sales effectiveness, bespoke website design and writing.

Karem Aydin describes himself in his bio as a self-employed individual who has been working since May 2018.

Jacinta Davila, like Aydin, studied at TAFA SA for a Certificate in Hair and Beauty and has been working in retail.

Jacinta Aydin’s last position was at Veronika Maine where she worked in the casual wear division.

On her LinkedIn account, she describes herself thus: “I am an honest and hardworking individual looking to further my career in the retail industry. I pride myself on having a confident, friendly and driven personality. 

“I have the ability to work in both a team environment and independently. I maintain a professional attitude at all times and have exceptional customer service skills. I have great time management skills and am always punctual,”

Aside Veronika Maine, other positions Jacinta Davila has held include with Windsor Smith Footwear and Ally Fashion.

The hitherto unknown Karem Aydin and his fiancee, 27-year-old Jacinta Davila, sprung to public notoriety due to their involvement in the murder of Adelaide pediatrician Dr Michael Yung.

Aydin and Davila, of Thebarton, are alleged to have bashed him to death during a violent altercation at his Gilberton home.

Dr Yung was found by emergency services with serious injuries at his Gilberton home Monday morning.

The 61-year-old was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he died on Tuesday.

SA Police managed to arrest two people – Kerem Aydin and Jacinta Davila – at a home in Torrensville, in Adelaide’s western suburbs.

The pair were charged with murder, aggravated serious criminal trespass and committing theft using force and will face court today.

SA Police Deputy Commissioner Linda Williams said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Doncaster, where Dr Ash Gordon Box Hill was killed, is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 18 km north-east of Melbourne’s Central Business District, located within the City of Manningham local government area. Doncaster recorded a population of 25,020 at the 2021 census.

The suburb, which is situated on 8.9 km2 of land, around the top of the 120 m high Doncaster Hill. 

The suburb consists of a central area along the top of Doncaster Hill, which includes several historical buildings along Doncaster Road, the Westfield Doncaster Shopping Centre and surrounding high-rise apartments, while the rest of the suburb is typical of many of Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, with extensive low-density housing.

It has lots of schools and there is a planned railway station for Doncaster. Currently residents need to travel to Box Hill to get on the train towards the city.

The border of the suburb follows the Koonung Creek from Doncaster Road, along the south of the suburb to Wetherby Road, which, with Victoria Street, forms the eastern border. 

The northern border follows Ruffey Creek, Williamsons Road, Manningham Road and Ayr Street, to the junction of the Koonung Creek and Doncaster Road.

The suburb is very hilly and due to its location it has panoramic views in every direction with the view to the west through the city stretching out to Bacchus Marsh on a clear day and the Macedon Ranges, to the north the Kinglake Ranges, to the east the Dandenong and Healesville ranges and south across the eastern suburbs to Glen Waverley/Mt Waverley.
