UW Madison Racist Video – Who Is Audrey Godlewski?

A UW Madison racist video has begun making rounds on the internet, showing a student of the institution, Audrey Godlewski, making racist remarks.

Audrey Godlweski in the UW Madison racist video threatened blacks using racial slurs and said she wants them to die!!

The video has sparked outrage amongst the University’s student community who are calling for Godlewski’s expulsion, with a change.org petition started to that effect.

UW Madison Racist

The UW Madison racist is none other than a student known as Audrey Godlewski who threatened black students and used racial slurs in a disturbing viral video.

On Tuesday, May 2nd 2023, a racist video featuring a student from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Audrey Godlewski started doing the rounds on the internet.

In the clip, the student is heard using racial slurs and “threatening the black community.”

One of the two white women featured in the UW Madison racist video, Audrey Godlewski begins the video by saying she wants to die before launching into an expletive-filled monologue saying she would haunt “every f–ing little N-word who f–ing did me wrong” and force them to “pick f–ing cotton” until their bodies “dry out because of how much cotton they’re picking for me.”

Her friend, recording the video, can be heard laughing in response.

The viral video led to backlash and pressure from student organizations on UW Madison after the university appeared to take no action against Godlewski.

“@UWMadison, you have a student by the name of Audrey Godlewski who goes against everything you stand for. We, the students, demand her to be expelled for how she decided to comfortably act as well as the peers in the video. Do something. #OnWisconsin, I guess.” a student said in a tweet.

In response, the university released a statement claiming whilst it does not support the racism on display it cannot take any action.

The statement read: The university is aware of a video recently posted to social media that contains deeply harmful and offensive racist slurs and references.

The Dean of Students Office is gathering additional information, collecting bias reports, and offering support to affected students and employees. UW–Madison strives to create a campus where everyone feels they belong.

While the university can’t limit what students and employees post to their personal social media accounts and can’t take action against posts that are not unlawful, racist slurs do not represent or reflect UW–Madison values around creating an inclusive community.

Audrey Godlewski is a student of the University of Madison-Winsconsin, a land grant public university in the United States of America.

Tagged the UW Racist, Audrey Godlewski made headlines in May 2023 after being caught in a video using racial slurs against African-Americans and revealing how she wants them to die!

Despite numerous calls for the school to take action, UW Madsion said it cannot regulate students social media content, even if it comes off racist!

“While the university can’t limit what students and employees post to their personal social media accounts and can’t take action against posts that are not unlawful, racist slurs do not represent or reflect UW–Madison values around creating an inclusive community,” a Unversity statement said.

Students took their own action, starting a change.org petition to get Godlewski expelled.

At press time, it had over to 15,000 signatures.

“At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a student by the name of Audrey Godlewski was recorded spewing racial slurs, threatening the black community, and stating her intentions of wanting to make black individuals pick cotton, dry up and die.” the Audrey Godlewski change.org petition read.

It concluded: “We need to set an example for future students to come and for the students who have done the same, but have not been caught.”

Audrey Godlewski UW Madison racism

UW Madison faced charges of racism after refusing to take action against racist student, Audrey Godlewski.

In reaction to the row, University officials said in a statement they are aware of the video and that it does not reflect the campus’s values, adding that content posted on private social media accounts cannot be regulated by the university.

“The university is aware of a video recently posted to social media that contains deeply harmful and offensive racist slurs and references,” the university said in a statement released Monday.

“The Dean of Students Office is gathering additional information, collecting bias reports and offering support to affected students and employees.”

“This is a predominantly white institution, it’s just a given that you will know white people and probably have at least one white friend even casually,” said Ndemazea Fonkem, class of 2024 at UW-Madison.

“No one really expects their friend behind closed doors to be comfortable with flagrant, disgusting racism, and comfortable enough to laugh at it. It sort of sparked this feeling of like, oh, it could be any one of my white friends behind that camera.”

“What has to happen for Black students to be materially valued on this campus?” she added. “How bad does it have to get for there to be repercussions? How bad does it have to get for the university to take a hardline stance?”

In a statement posted to Instagram, the Wisconsin Black Student Union (WBSU) said they are “infuriated with the recent actions and words spoken by Audrey Godlewski and her peers” and reminded the UW-Madison community that Black students make up a mere 2 percent of the school’s population. 

“It is hurtful and absolutely repulsive, though not uncommon, to hear a white student use such hateful language and racial slurs that are disrespectful and degrading to our community,” the statement said.

“Furthermore, the actions taken by Audrey are in opposition to the principles of inclusivity, diversity, morals and respect in which UW-Madison has failed to uphold time and time again. This is not the first time white students have taken it upon themselves to use such offensive and racist slurs towards the Black community on this campus. There are rules that are in place to ensure that all students are welcomed. These rules should apply to all students regardless of their race. This isn’t over.”

The UW Madison racist student is on social media, particularly Facebook with her real name Audrey Godlewski.

Despite the controversy surrounding her comments, she doesn’t seem fazed and has made a couple more racist posts on her page.

Sharing a photo of her parents, she said: “My mom and dad also hate m*nkeys stay away from my family,”

Eva Treu

Eva Treu has been identified the other girl recording and laughing in the UW Madison racism video featuring Audrey Godlewski.

Treu, alongside another lady, Madi Muller, were fingered as Godlewski’s ‘accomplices’.

“AUDREY GODLEWSKI. MADI MULLER AND EVA TREU ARE THE OTHER GIRLS LAUGHING. Get her expelled,” a social media user wrote on Facebook as they shared the change.org petition!

Meanwhile, a LinkedIn profile of Eva Treu confirms she’s studying Healthcare Administration or Management at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Evidently, questions are being asked about Lavar Charleston and UW Madison over the actions of Audrey Godlewski.
