The Dover couple were found dead alongside their teenage daughter in their home at 8 Wilson’s Way, Dover Ma, on Thursday, December 28th 2023.

Police believe the deaths were a domestic violence incident although they are yet to officially classify it as a murder-suicide.

Teena Kamal was a Havard-educated Indian-American woman who together with her husband, Rakesh Kamel, also Indian-American and their daughter, died a tragic death at their Dover Ma mansion.

It’s not clear when Teena Kamal Dover Ma married Rakesh Kamal.

However, they welcomed a daughter together, Arianna Kamal, 18 years ago.

The three lived together at their $6.7 million, 27-room mansion at 8 Wilson’s Way in Dover, Massachusetts.

Aside from everything else, Teena Kamal was also a member of the Massachusetts Region Tiffany Circle Society of Women Leaders of the Red Cross.

She was the Vice Chair of the group for the 2023/2024 cycle, serving alongside the Chair Karen Teller.

The American Red Cross confirmed Teena served on the regional board of the American Red Cross of Massachusetts.

“The American Red Cross is deeply saddened by the tragedy in Dover. Teena Kamal served on our regional Board of Directors and served as vice-chair of our Massachusetts Tiffany Circle,” a Red Cross spokesperson told Boston 25.

“Our hearts go out to their loved ones during this devastating time. As this is an ongoing investigation, we will refer any inquiries to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office,”

On their website, the Tiffany Circle describes its members thus: “By investing $10,000 annually in their local American Red Cross chapters, these women follow in the footsteps of a long line of women leaders who have helped the Red Cross serve the American public in times of war and peace with disaster assistance, blood collection, safety training and countless other community assistance services,”

It continues: “The name Tiffany and the $10,000 amount have historical precedence. The society is named for the beautiful Tiffany windows in the Board of Governors Hall at Red Cross national headquarters in Washington, D.C. These windows, produced by the Tiffany Studios, were commissioned by Red Cross President Mabel Boardman in 1917. As an act of reconciliation and hope, they were paid for with a $5,000 gift from a group of women of the north and a group of women of the south,”

Rakesh Kamal Dover Ma

Rakesh Kamal was the husband of Teena Kamal Dover Ma.

He is tentatively believed to have killed her, their daughter and himself in an incredible act of domestic violence.

Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey identified the three victims who had earlier been discovered.

Morrissey refused to confirm if the incident is being considered a murder-suicide, preferring to leave the medical examiner’s office to conclude its investigation into the cause and manner of the death.

He however noted that a gun was found by Rakesh Kamal’s body.

“This is an event to remember that the domestic violence crisis crosses all socio-economic and social situations.

“During the search of the premises the police did find a firearm on the premises.

“It’s clear that this is a confined situation and is no threat to the residents of the town,”

The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death as soon as today, he added.

“This is very unfortunate and our hearts goes out to the entire Kamal family on this terrible tragedy,”

Morrissey said that there was no threat to the public and that “it is safe to believe that this is a domestic incident.

“It’s a safe neighborhood and the neighbhors were not aware,” he added.

‘It’s very rare to have this kind of violent situation in any community in Norfolk county, particularly Dover, it’s a small, well-run and policed community,” he continued.

“A lot of times the violence we see in Norfolk county is people who are known to each other, unfortunately,”

Boston 25 reports despite their apparent wealth, the Kamals were facing financial difficulties.

Filings in federal bankruptcy court in Boston showed Teena Kamal filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in September 2022.

Chapter 13 is designed for individuals with regular income who are temporarily unable to pay their debts.

Under Chapter 13, petitioners must file a plan with the court to repay their creditors all or part of the money that they owe them using future earnings.

Teena listed liabilities between $1 million and $10 million in the filings, but the bankruptcy case was dismissed a month later due to failure to comply with court orders, the documents indicate.

A creditor listed among the bankruptcy filings is Wilsondale Associates LLC.

Records from the Dover Assessor’s Department show the Kamals sold 8 Wilson’s Way to Wilsondale Associates in December 2022 for $3 million, despite the Town of Dover listing the value of the property at $6.8 million.

Teena Kamal Dover Ma had a daughter, Arianna, who was also killed in the tragic incident.

Arianna Kamal Dover Ma was a stunning student who won several awards and held numerous positions during her short time in school.

She won the Silver Key honor issued by Scholastic Art and Writing awards in February 2022.

She was also issued a qualifier by the National Merit Society in October 2021.

She’s served as a Data Analyst, Virtual Tutor and numerous other positions, according to her LinkedIn page.

Ariana, 18, was a student at Middlebury college, a private liberal arts college in Middlebury, Vermont.

Founded in 1800 by Congregationalists, Middlebury was the first operating college or university in Vermont.

The college currently enrolls 2,773 undergraduates from all 50 states and 74 countries and offers 45 majors in the arts and humanities as well as joint engineering programs.

In addition to its undergraduate liberal arts program, the school also has graduate schools, the Middlebury College Language Schools, the Bread Loaf School of English, and the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, as well as its C.V. Starr-Middlebury Schools Abroad international programs.

Tragedy at 8 Wilsons Way Dover Ma

Responding to a call just before 7:30 p.m., Dover Police Department officers arrived at the location after a family relative, concerned about the couple, contacted 911.

The family member called 911 at approximately 7:24 p.m. after visiting the home on Wilson’s Way to check on the family after not hearing from them for a few days.

The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office reported the discovery of the lifeless bodies of a man, a woman, and their teenage daughter within the residence.

A statement from the Dover Police Department gave some details on the murders at Wilsons Way Dover.

Police investigating three deaths in Dover – the statement was titled.

“Dover Police received a 911 call requesting a response to a residence on Wilson’s Way at approximately 7:24 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, by a family member who had stopped by to check on the family.

Dover Police responded to the home to find an adult male, adult female, and their teenage daughter deceased. Officers secured the scene, and contacted the State Police Detective Unit attached to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office to join the investigation.

Although the investigation is at a very preliminary stage, it is not believed that there is any ongoing danger to the Dover community related to this incident.

The next of kin notification process is ongoing Thursday night. Additional information is likely to be available by mid-morning on Friday.

Dover Police and Massachusetts State Police officers from the Norfolk District Attorney’s office, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and other specialized units will be processing the scene through much of the night.

The District Attorney later identified the victims as Rakesh, Teena and Ariana Kamal of Dover, Ma.

According to state property records, the property at 8 Wilson’s Way is a 5.07-acre lot with a 19,355-square-foot, 27 room mansion built in 2000.

It was last sold in 2022 for $3 million and is currently assessed at more than $5.9 million.

Dover
