Clarissa Burgos, 29, of Brooklyn NY, has been killed in a nasty shooting ambush that saw her and her boyfriend shot over 16 times in a car.

On Tuesday, December 26th 2023, a Black Honda sedan double parked outside Xscape, a nightclub on the corner of 127th Street and Liberty Avenue in Richmond Hill, was attacked by several gunmen.

The three gunmen opened fire into the vehicle and fired at least 16 times, according to police.

The shooting killed 29-year-old Classia Burgos of Brooklyn NY, a mother of one who was in the passenger seat.

The driver survived with multiple gunshot wounds and drove the vehicle to a police precint in Jamaica in Queens.

He is believed to have been the target of the likely gang related attack.

Family of the late Clarissa said she was dating the man.

Clarissa Burgos Brooklyn NY was a beautiful American woman from New York who was tragically killed in a shooting in December 2023.

Clarissa Burgos Brooklyn NY was mother to a four-year-old son at the time of her death, her family revealed.

She was dating a man in New York, yet to be identified by police, when they were both shot at over 16 times whilst in a car parked outside a nightclub.

The mother of one died but her boyfriend managed to escape with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and is currently receiving treatment.

Clarissa Burgos, of Fort Greene, Brooklyn, was described by family members as a vibrant, smiling single mother to a 4-year-old son.

“How do you tell a baby his mommy’s not coming home?” her aunt Sonia Gallart said as she sat, weeping, with Burgos’ sister, struggling to make sense of the killing.

Gallart said she believes her niece, Clarissa Burgos Brooklyn NY was seeing the driver romantically but the family didn’t know were they were headed Tuesday night when the tragedy occurred.

She also said there was no doubt Clarissa was just collateral damage as her crooked boyfriend was the real target of the attack.

“Somebody was looking for him,” Gallart said. 

“Be careful with the person, no matter who it is. Study the person you’re going out with. Because you don’t want your parents to go through this. … Sometimes they show one thing, and really it’s another thing.”

The shooting occurred when the killers targeted the vehicle near 127th St. and Liberty Ave. in Richmond Hill.

Up to three men opened fire from both sides of the car about 11:55 p.m. Tuesday.

Clarisa Burgos Brooklyn NY and her boyfriend were double-parked when the gunmen, dressed all in dark clothing, opened fire, police sources told the New York Daily News.

Burgos was fatally hit but her boyfriend sped off to a nearby police precinct and survived.

Police sources revealed that he has 29 arrests on his record.

Investigators are looking into whether Burgos and her boyfriend were celebrating at the nearby Xscape lounge and nightclub on the corner of 127th Street and Liberty Avenue before the shooting.

Police recovered 16 shell casings, both .45 caliber and 9-mm., from the scene in Richmond Hill.

“We have no idea what went wrong,” another aunt, Clover Gallant, said. 

“We don’t know what happened. We don’t know anything.”

Burgos’ older sister, Julia Burgos, 29, was taking care of Clarisa’s son for the night, and rushed to the stationhouse after she got early-morning phone calls telling her what happened.

“She was a loving mother. She had one son. She loved her son. She wanted to do everything she could for her son. She wanted him to have the world,” Julia Burgos said.

Burgos’ son will have the support of her family as he grows up, they said. “Thank God the boy has a big family,” Sonia Gallart said.

Sonia Gallart, who raised Clarissa Burgos Brooklyn NY,  added: “Clarisa was the baby of the family. My baby of the family. … We’re a big family, and we’re very close.”

“Her smile. Her way of being. She was always happy. She would walk in with a big smile. These are things that are going to be missed,” Clover Gallant said. 

“Because she was so full of life. Looking forward to getting older.”

The two aunts blamed the shooting on the number of guns on the street and blasted the city’s elected officials for not doing enough to curb the violence.

“The city should do more,” Clover Gallant said. 

“Start talking to people, getting involved, talking to their children. Stay away from these goddamn guns and stay away from problems.”

“Why? Why is there another child without his mother?” she added.

Clarisa Burgos Brooklyn NY dies in Richmond Hill shooting

In a scene more like you would see in a movie, a 39-year-old man, injured and with his sedan perforated by bullets, drove to a police precinct in Jamaica, Queens after his car was riddled with a barrage of gunfire on Tuesday night that claimed the life of his passenger, Clarissa Burgos Brooklyn NY. 

The Richmond Hill shooting unfolded outside Xscape, a nightclub situated on the intersection of 127th Street and Liberty Avenue in Richmond Hill, shortly after 11:55 p.m.

The assailants targeted a black Honda double-parked near the nightclub, firing numerous rounds into the chest of the driver. 

The victim, with New Jersey license plates adorning his bullet-ridden vehicle, managed to reach the 103rd Precinct on 91st Avenue where he parked the wounded sedan on the corner and sought assistance.

Regrettably, the 28-year-old female passenger, identified as Clarissa Burgos of Brooklyn NY, succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities disclosed that the gunmen, firing at least 16 shots, attacked the vehicle from both sides.

Surveillance footage depicted two individuals approaching the car from across the street, initiating the gunfire, before a third person joined the assault. The assailants hastily retreated as the vehicle sped away.

The injured driver, with a history of 29 prior arrests, was transported to Jamaica Hospital and reported to be in stable condition. 

Preliminary investigations suggest that he, rather than the deceased young woman, may have been the intended target of the attack.

Some residents in the neighborhood were shocked to hear what happened.

“Scared because I live here 40 something years,” Kris Rampersad told ABC7 NY.

“I’m really surprised because we never heard of things over here in this area,” said Honey Bindra.

However, Fareeza Haraish, who lives nearby, says this shooting doesn’t surprise her.

“This is not the first time I’m hearing about like shoot outs or anything, it’s not a shock to me, this is why I stay away from these kind of clubs around here because it’s scary, there’s a lot of violence going on,” Haraish said.

No arrests were immediately made and the motive for shooting is unclear.

She frequently plastered her Facebook page with photos of her 4-year-old son — playing at a water park, getting a pedicure at a salon, smiling outside a goat’s cage at a petting zoo, and even posing with film director Spike Lee while out trick-or-treating on Halloween.

On Christmas, Burgos took her son out ice skating in Brooklyn Bridge Park, her sister said.

“She did everything in her power to make sure he was good. She was going into real estate so that they could have property, so they could own property,” Julia Burgos said.

“She bought stuff for him before she bought herself anything.”
