Who is Steven Nelson? Omaha Boxer Arrested for Shooting 14-Year-Old Girl

Omaha professional boxer, Steven Nelson has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a 14-year-old girl.

Nelson, 35, was arrested by Omaha PD investigators Thursday and charged with 2nd-degree assault, two counts of 1st-degree assault, use of a gun to commit a felony, and shooting at an occupied vehicle.

Omaha Police were alerted to a shooting in the area of 3500 Lincoln Boulevard early Sunday.

Officers responded to the area of 43rd and Ohio Street at 2:13 a.m. and spoke with the victim, a 14-year-old girl, who said she had been shot at a different location.

OFD medics transported her to the Nebraska Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Nelson, following his arrest for the shooting, was booked at Douglas County Corrections.
