Who is Ian Taylor's Wife Mindy? All about Late Officer's Family

Ian Taylor was a Billerica Police officer who was killed during an accident on a construction site.

Taylor, 49, was killed Friday, April 26th, 2024 when he was hit by an excavator while working a detail at a construction site on Boston Road in Billerica.

He leaves behind a wife, Mindy, and three children – daughter Kiley, and sons Zack & Nate.

He was helping a tractor-trailer get around the construction site when he was hit. The veteran police officer was rushed to Lahey Hospital but later died.

The late police officer was a veteran of the force, having served with the Billerica Police since 2011.

He previously worked for the Lawrence Police Department from 2003 to 2010.

Ian Taylor was married with three children, according to his tribute from the Ashland Police Department.

“We are saddened to hear of the loss of Sergeant Ian Taylor, who was killed in the line of duty yesterday. Sergeant Taylor leaves behind a loving wife and three children.

“Our hearts are with Sgt. Taylor’s family, friends, our brothers and sister of Billerica Police | MA and all who knew him during this difficult time. Please join us in keeping them in your thoughts and prayers,”

Billerica Police Chief Roy Frost said he was proud to have a person like Taylor in his department and that the department and Taylor’s family are devastated.

“I want you folks to know that Sgt. Taylor made an impact while he was here. His life had meaning. He’s helped so many people. He’s saved so many people,” Frost said.

A vigil would be held for Taylor in the courtyard of Billerica Memorial High School from 6-7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The vigil is open to the public.
