Who is Michael Lee? 15-Year-Old Arrested for Huron Homicide

Michael Lee is a 15-year-old South Dakota kid arrested after shooting and killing a woman in Huron.

One woman was killed in the shooting Thursday and police announced they were looking for a 15-year-old suspect.

Lee was initially on the run but was arrested by authorities.

A shelter-in-place was declared around 10 a.m. but the lockdown was lifted around 2:30 p.m..

Huron PD released the following statement: “The Huron Police Department has an ongoing critical incident on the southwest side of Huron. There is a large law enforcement presence in the area. If you live in the immediate area, please shelter in place. The area is currently blocked off, and the public is asked to stay away.

“The police department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a juvenile male. The male is identified as Michael Lee, age 15. Michael is described as being 6’4” and was last observed wearing dark clothing carrying a duffle bag. If you are aware of Michael’s location, do not approach and contact the Huron Police Department at (605) 353-8550. Do not approach and contact law enforcement.

“Out of an abundance of precautionary areas, schools have been asked to keep the buildings secure while classes continue,”

Huron PD later announced they had arrested Lee. Charges are yet to be announced.
