Who was Dylan Rounds? Body Of Missing Idaho Teen Found After Going Missing for Two Years

The remains of an Idaho young man who went missing a few years ago, Dylan Rounds, have been recovered, the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office has announced.

Skeletal remains presumed to belong to Rounds were recovered in the remote Western Box Elder County area of Lucin.

Rounds was 19 years old when he went missing in 2022, according to Fox 13.

He was last seen over Memorial Day weekend in Montello, Nevada — 30 miles west of his home in the small town of Lucin, Utah where his family said he had moved to start his own farm.

His family says he spoke to his grandmother that weekend andthen vanished and was never heard from again!

In March 2023, James Brenner was formally charged with Aggravated Murder and Abuse or Desecration of a Human body for the murder of Dylan Rounds and the disposal of his body.

Brenner was a squatter on a property close to Rounds’ property and the duo apparently had gotten into a sort of tiff.

Following his disappearance, investigators had found a pair of boots belonging to Rounds about five miles west of where he lived.

The boots when tested contained traces of his blood along with DNA belonging to Brenner, leading to investigators turning their lenses on him.

Fox 13 citing East Idaho News reports that Brenner revealed the location of Rounds’ remains as part of a plea deal.

The Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement following the discovery: “Our hearts go out to the family of Dylan Rounds. We offer our sincerest condolences for the loss of their family member. We understand that the pain of their loss is immeasurable, and we want to express our deepest sympathies to them. It is our hope that they can find peace moving forward.

“We would like to express our gratitude to our deputies, detectives, volunteers, and other Box Elder County employees who have worked tirelessly investigating and assisting in the many search efforts during the past 23 months. We highly appreciate their diligent efforts, unwavering dedication, and commitment, and we extend our genuine thanks to them for their hard work.

“We are grateful to everyone who assisted and supported the investigation and search efforts on this exceptionally challenging case. The dedication and collaboration of those involved have been absolutely remarkable, and the invaluable aid provided to the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office has been instrumental in the success of this investigation,”
