Who is Chef Ricky Hunter? Suspect in Killing of Two Sacramento Women Shoots Himself Outside Arden Mall

Ricky Hunter, a Sacramento area chef who was wanted by authorities for killing two women earlier this week, shot and killed himself outside Arden Mall Thursday.

Hunter blasted himself in the chest with a shotgun as police were closing in on arresting him.

Two women were killed in a shooting outside a Sacramento County apartment complex late Wednesday, April 10th 2024.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a shooting at a parking lot in The Eleven Hundred apartment complex along Howe Avenue near Northrop Avenue.

Deputies found two women shot when they arrived, with both succumbing to their injuries.

Authorities on Thursday identified a suspect, Ricky Hunter, a 32-year-old chef from Sacramento.

Hunter was tracked to the mall and confronted by police after leaving an AT&T store.

Deputies converged on him whilst in his vehicle and realizing his days of terror were over, Hunter pulled out a shotgun and blasted himself in the chest.

After the shooting, deputies administered a chest seal and Hunter was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
