Who were Lana and Zayn? Michigan Siblings Aged 8 and 5 Killed by Drunk Driver Marshella Chidester

Two siblings named Lana and Zayn are dead and their mom, Mariah and brother, Jayden, remain in critical condition following a drunk driver crashing into the Swan Boat Club in Michigan.

66-year-old Marshella Chidestar who was driving under the influence rammed her car into through a wall at the Swan Boat Club in Newport.

Chidestar was intoxicated at the time of the accident, according to Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough.

“The vehicle struck the north wall of the facility, entering the building,” Goodnough said. “(It) came to rest approximately 25 feet inside the building.”

At least 15 people were injured, including six adults and three children.

Chidestar, who has not officially been identified yet, has been lodged in the Monroe County Jail pending formal charges.

Diane Harrington, the sister of Mariah Lynn who is the mother of Lana and Zayn and is currently in critical conditon at the hospital, has started a Gofundme to raise money for the family.

“Hi my name is Diane. My sister and her family have lost their two babies to a drunk driver April 20th in Monroe, MI. Mom (Mariah) and oldest brother (Jayden )are still in critical condition at this time. Monies raised will help give Lana age 8 and Zayn age 5 a proper funeral and burial service. Left over monies will help the family with housing and medical expenses. Thank you for your support during this time. Service date and location to be announced,” her post on Gofundme reads.

The fundraiser as at the time of publication of this piece had raised close to $90,000 out of its $100,000 goal.
