Authorities have identified a woman who died in a car crash in Wheeling Wednesday night as Ava Gable-Reze.
Gable-Reze, of Buffalo Grove, died following a two-vehicle crash
Authorities had been withholding Gable-Reze’s identity until her family could be notified.
The collision happened about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday on Lake-Cook Road near Northgate Parkway when Gable-Reze’s 2018 Buick Encore crossed a median into oncoming traffic and hit a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the two vehicles with heavy damage and one person entrapped in each car.
Firefighters extricated both people and transported them to local hospitals where Gable-Reze died.
The other driver survived and has also yet to be identified.
According to her LinkedIn account, Ava Gable is a sales representative with Broken Earth Winery, a graduate of the University of Arizona.
