Three police officers have been injured in Kenner, Louisiana in an armed standoff with a suspect wanted in connection with other shootings.
Matthew Lathers, 31, is wanted in connection with two earlier shootings and faces charges of attempted murder and armed robbery.
The wounded officers were transported to a hospital, according to Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley.
Kenner police said officers were called at around 9:45 a.m. to a residence in the 700 block of Farm Avenue, where they eventually entered a standoff with Lathers.
He is wanted in connection with a Kenner shooting and holdup that left a 56-year-old man in critical condition on Tuesday afternoon, according to Capt. Michael Cunningham, spokesperson for the Kenner Police Department.
Lathers is also the suspect in a double shooting that was reported in the same location early Sunday, Cunningham said.
Two men were wounded in that shooting with one left in critical condition.
This remains an active shooter situation – stay tuned for more updates.
