Isaac Farris revealed King and Weber met several years ago in New Orleans when Weber hosted a book-signing for “Growing Up King: An Intimate Memoir.”

Following their wedding, the couple lived in Malibu, Calif., where King had lived for a number of years.

The famously private Dexter King, once an Atlanta staple, has lived in California for about a decade now. He rarely makes public appearances in his hometown.

According to the King Center, Weber’s father, Larry Weber, lives in Atlanta. Her mother, Joy Arceneaux, lives in New Orleans.

Christine King Farris, matriarch of the King family, revealed Dexter called her to inform her he was tying the knot to the love of his life.

He said, “Aunt Chris, I’ve finally taken the step. Leah and I are married,’ ” Christine Farris recalled.

“I am real pleased that they have gotten together and I wish them all the best. His parents would be very pleased for him.”

Isaac Newton Farris Jr. added of the union: “Together they built a life of love, support and unconditional love, much like that of Dexter’s mother and father,”

Dexter King, who married Leah Weber, was the third child and second son of Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.

He was named for the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Alabama where his father once served as pastor, and he was just seven years old when his father was assassinated in 1968.

His oldest sister, and first born of MLK Jr. and Coretta, died at 51-years-old on May 15, 2007 – one year after their mother passed.

Dexter’s older brother, Martin Luther King III, and younger sister, Bernice King, have survived him. Their older sister Yolanda King died in 2007.
