Following their wedding, the couple lived in Malibu, Calif., where King had lived for a number of years.

The famously private Dexter King, once an Atlanta staple, has lived in California for about a decade now. He rarely makes public appearances in his hometown.

Dexter King, who married Leah Weber, was the third child and second son of Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.

He was named for the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Alabama where his father once served as pastor, and he was just seven years old when his father was assassinated in 1968.

His oldest sister, and first born of MLK Jr. and Coretta, died at 51-years-old on May 15, 2007 – one year after their mother passed.

Dexter’s older brother, Martin Luther King III, and younger sister, Bernice King, have survived him. Their older sister Yolanda King died in 2007.

The actor had a love for the creative arts and initially relocated to California to pursue a career in acting. But family duty called and he answered, living out the rest of his life balancing both his love of the arts and his duties to the King family legacy.

Mrs. Leah Weber King is a New Orleans native, former broadcast journalist, entrepreneur, and consultant. He was preceded in death by his father (1968), his mother (2006) and sister Yolanda (2007).
