Mr. Diesel, 56, became famous after Steven Spielberg chose him to play a soldier in “Saving Private Ryan”; he proved himself as a leading actor suited for muscular roles with his roles as a murderer in the “Chronicles of Riddick” series and a Navy SEAL in the comedy “The Pacifier.”

The lawsuit claimed that Diesel’s assistant, Asta Jonasson was s*xually assaulted by the actor during the filming of Fast Five.

In the lawsuit, the former assistant, Asta Jonasson, said the encounter took place less than two weeks after she was hired to work for Mr. Diesel.

The actor grabbed her, groped her breasts and forcibly kissed her while she repeatedly said no, according to the lawsuit.

Vin Diesel pulled her dress up and moved to pull down her underwear, the lawsuit said, before Ms. Jonasson screamed and ran toward the bathroom.

The complaint said Mr. Diesel then “pinned her against the wall with his body, and grabbed Ms. Jonasson’s hand and placed it on his erect p*.*nis.”

When she again refused to engage, the lawsuit says, Mr. Diesel began masturbating while keeping her pinned to the wall.

“For years, Ms. Jonasson remained silent,” the lawsuit said, “afraid to speak out against one of the world’s highest-grossing actors, afraid she would be ostracized from the industry which had a pattern of protecting powerful men and silencing survivors of s.*.xual harassment and assault, and concerned that as a green card holder that speaking out could jeopardize her potential future citizenship.”

Asta Jonasson further alleges that she got a call from an executive at Diesel’s production company One Race Films — Mr. Diesel’s sister, Samantha Vincent — a few hours after the incident in the hotel room and got fired.

She claims she was informed that they did not need “any extra help.”

Asta Jonasson has named Samantha Vincent and the production company as further defendants.

Ms. Jonasson stated in the lawsuit that the production company had made all employees sign a nondisclosure agreement that stopped them from revealing anything about Mr. Diesel.

Ms. Jonasson took legal action under a California law that was enacted after the #MeToo movement and allowed people who accused someone of sexual assault to sue even if the time limit had expired. Her lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, also claimed wrongful termination and retaliation.

A lawyer for Mr. Diesel, Bryan J. Freedman, said in a statement that Mr. Diesel “categorically denies this claim in its entirety.”

“This is the first he has ever heard about this more than 13-year-old claim made by a purportedly nine-day employee,” Mr. Freedman said.

“There is clear evidence which completely refutes these outlandish allegations.”

What are the allegations against Diesel?

Asta Jonasson alleges that she was working for the actor in Atlanta, where he was filming “Fast Five,” when he brought her to his suite at the St. Regis Hotel and forced her onto his bed.

According to the suit, she asked him to stop and moved toward the door, but he came over to her and began to grope her breasts and kiss her chest.

He tried to pull down her underwear after running down his fingers on her legs including inner thighs, and she screamed and ran toward the bathroom, the suit alleges.

Jonasson alleges that Diesel pressed against the wall and forced her to touch his erect penis, and then began to m####rbate.

“Ms. Jonasson was unable to escape and closed her eyes, scared of angering Vin Diesel by rejecting him further and trying to dissociate, wishing the assault would end,” the suit alleges.

Hours later, according to the lawsuit, Samantha Vincent, Diesel’s sister and the president of his company, called Jonasson and fired her.

“It was clear to her that she was being fired because she was no longer useful — Vin Diesel had used her to fulfill his s#.xual desires and she had resisted his s.#xual assaults,” the suit alleges.

“Ms. Jonasson felt like she was a piece of trash to be discarded. Ms. Jonasson felt helpless, her self esteem was demolished, and she questioned her own skills and whether a successful career would require her to trade her body for advancement.”

The suit alleges that a few days before the Diesel incident, Jonasson was propositioned by another supervisor at his company, One Race.

According to the complaint, the supervisor summoned her to his hotel room at the St. Regis, took off his shirt, got into bed and said “Come here.”

“Appalled, Ms. Jonasson immediately exited the room and the hotel,” the suit states.
