Keisha Whitaker was born on March 8, 1972, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She was 51.

She was an actress and producer, known for Kassim the Dream (2008), Proud (2004) and Ben Harper: With My Own Two Hands (2009).

She was married to Forest Whitaker for over 20 years, with the couple breaking up roughly five years ago.

Forest Whitaker and Keisha Nash Whitaker met on the set of the 1994 film “Blown Away” in which she portrayed Whitaker’s girlfriend – they end up being married for 22 years.

“He is very honest and sensitive and romantic,” Keisha Nash shared at the time.

“He swept me off my feet — not with material things, more like the way he displayed his emotions.”

They had two children together, True Whitaker, 25 and Sonnet Whitaker, who is 27.

Nash Whitaker was also mom to Autumn, her daughter from a prior relationship.

She was the sister-in-law of Kidada Jones, Damon and Kenn Whitaker.

Keisha Nash Whitaker died on December 7, 2023 following a long battle with anorexia nervosa at the age of 51.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, “Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder. This disorder makes you obsess about your weight and food. If you have this problem, you may have a warped body image. You may see yourself as fat even though you have a very low body weight.

“With anorexia, you may use unusual eating habits to cope with stress, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Limiting food may give you a sense of control over your life,”

They add that anorexia nervosa affects more women than men.

Keisha Nash, who battled the condition, reportedly spent the last months of her life in the hospital with intestinal issues.

Her daughter True made the big announcement of her passing on social media.

She shared photos of her mother when she was younger and included the message, “Goodbye mommy. I love you 4ever and beyond.”

“The most beautiful woman in the world… thank you for teaching me every single thing I know,” she continued. “I’ll see you in my dreams and I’ll feel you in my heart.”

Philip Bloch, who worked with Keisha Nash, mourned her sad passing.

Forest Whitaker filed for divorce from his wife Keisha Nash in 2018 after 22 years of marriage.

The popular actor cited irreconcilable differences in his petition for divorce.
