Who is Alek Isaiah Collins? Houston Resident Arrested for New Mexico Double Murder and Baby Kidnapping

Alek Isaiah Collins, 26, was arrested Monday for the kidnapping of 10-month-old Eleia Maria Torres, and the murder of two women in New Mexico.

The Clovis Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation jointly announced the arrest of Collins, of Houston, Texas, in connection with the murder of Samantha “Harley” Cisneros and Taryn Allen.

Cisneros, Torres’ mother and Allyn were found shot and killed in a park in New Mexico on Friday.

Authorities also found Cisneros’ five 5-year-old girl critically shot and injured at the site of the crime and announced that her other child, the 10-month-old Eleia Maria Torres, had been abducted.

According to reports, the FBI alerted the Abilene Police Department about Alek possibly being present in Abilene.

Further investigations led to the discovery of a residence in North Abilene where they believed the suspect was staying.

On Monday, May 6, at 4:30 a.m., narcotics agents established surveillance on the residence, and Collins was apprehended peacefully.

Currently, Collins is in custody facing charges of Aggravated Robbery and Assaulting a Peace Officer.

Police booked him into the Taylor County Jail in Abilene.

After being found by police, Eleia was purportedly taken to a local area hospital to be checked out.

Reports indicated that she was under medical care, but not injured.

According to the limited details revealed, authorities are still working to establish if there is a connection between Collins, the murdered women, and the motive behind Eleia’s abduction.

However, as of the present moment, police said it appears that Collins did not know the victims.
