Who is David Johnson, Manchester Shooter and Wife Arrested Over Double Homicide?

David Johnson the Manchester shooter and his wife, Tabitha, were arrested Thursday over a double homicide in Ohio.

Jimmy Shoemaker and Kay Mozingo lost their lives in the shooting.

The duo were found dead in Adams County Thursday afternoon and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) announced a suspect was in custody.

On Friday, it was announced two suspects were in custody.

According to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, a double homicide happened in Manchester at a home in the 200 block of West Sixth Street.

Two people were found dead in the house. A third person was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound.

Initially, it was announced that one suspect was being sought after.

The Maysville Police Department told residents on its Facebook page Thursday the suspect could be in the area and was armed and dangerous. The post said the suspect was armed and dangerous.

“The Maysville Police Department, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, and KSP are actively assisting Ohio authorities in attempting to locate a suspect who is considered armed and dangerous,” the post on the MPD Facebook page read.

“Please use caution as authorities are trying to locate this individual. The individual is known to be in the Maysville and Mason County area.

Thankfully, the suspect was found after a search across several counties in both Ohio and Kentucky.

The Maysville Police Department, Mason County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police were involved in the search.

It was announced Thursday that David Johnson, aged 46, from Aberdeen, was the shooter authorities had chased.

His wife Tabitha Johnson, aged 36, was also apprehended for the crime.

It was also announced that Jimmy Shoemaker and Kay Mozingo were those who lost their lives in the Manchester shooting.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations has been summoned to probe the incident, according to reports.

The Adams County sheriff requested the involvement of investigators from the BCI Crime Scene Unit and Special Investigations Unit to examine the double homicide, according to BCI.

Due to the search for the suspect, West Union Junior and Senior High School canceled all baseball and softball games. Adams County Valley Schools canceled all activities scheduled for Thursday.

All district schools are closed this week for spring break.

“All baseball and softball games scheduled for this evening, Thursday, March 28 against Manchester, have been cancelled,” West Union Jr/Sr High school announced in a post.

“This is Dawn Wallace -Superintendent of Adams County Ohio Valley Schools with one announcement. All activities for Thursday March 28 are cancelled and buses will be returning to the schools,” Adams County Ohio Valley School also announced.

Prior to the arrest of David Johnson the Manchester shooter and his wife for double homicide, a man was arrested in Fargo, ND for another homicide.

Police arrested 28-year-old Michael Diedrich in South Fargo around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, accused of stabbing a man to death.

The Fargo Police Department (PD) were called to the parking lot of SouthTown PourHouse and Duane’s House of Pizza just before 1 a.m. where they found a male stabbing victim in his 20s.

He was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

During the investigation, police learned Diedrich and the victim were arguing before they were both told to leave the establishment by staff.

Police say Diedrich fled the scene after the stabbing.

“I don’t want to get into the details of the argument yet, because we’re still very much under investigation into what’s going on and why this happened. But immediately from that time forward we started looking for a suspect,” said Fargo Police Captain Bill Ahlfeldt.

Manchester is a village in Manchester Township, Adams County, Ohio, United States, along the Ohio River. The population was 1,839 at the 2020 census.

The community was originally founded in 1790 as Massie’s Station for Nathaniel Massie, an explorer and entrepreneur who first surveyed Virginia Military District.

It was the first permanent settlement in the District. It was laid out along the Ohio River near three islands. In 1791, Massie’s Station became known as Manchester, Ohio, after Manchester, England, Massie’s ancestral home. It was the fourth permanent settlement established in the Northwest Territory.

By 1791, residents had completely encircled the community with a stockade.

In 1933, after its bankruptcy, Alfred Holbrook College opened on the same campus as National Normal University, a teacher’s college in Lebanon, Ohio.

In 1933, Alfred Holbrook College moved to Manchester where it closed in 1941.

Manchester is at the junction of U.S. Route 52 and Ohio State Route 136. Manchester is the approximate halfway point between Cincinnati and Huntington, West Virginia.

As of the census of 2010, 2,023 people, 818 households, and 527 families resided in the village.

The racial makeup of the village was 96.2% White, 0.2% African American, 0.4% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 0.7% from other races, and 2.4% from two or more races.

Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.7% of the population.
