Who was Anand Sujit Henry?

Anand Sujit Henry was a 42-year-old software engineer and entrepreneur who lived in a $2.1 million home in San Mateo with his wife Alice Priyanka, a 40-year-old data scientist, and their 4-year-old twin boys Noah and Neithan.

On February 13, 2024, he allegedly shot and killed his wife and sons in their bedroom and then shot himself in the bathroom, in what the police believe to be a murder-suicide.

Education and career

Anand Sujit Henry was born in Kerala, India, and moved to the United States in 2015.

He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering in 2004, and from Stanford University with a master’s degree in computer science in 2007.

He worked as a software engineering manager at Google and Meta (formerly Facebook) for several years, before leaving Meta in June 2020 to start his own artificial intelligence company, Logits.

Logits specialized in providing enterprises with the means to privately train and serve generative AI models for specific business needs.

He was described by his colleagues and friends as a friendly, hardworking, and talented professional who had a passion for AI and innovation.

San Mateo police found four bodies in the couple’s home after they received a call from a concerned relative for a welfare check.

The police arrived at the residence around 9:30 a.m. on February 13, 2024, and forced entry into the home after no one answered the door.

They discovered the two children dead in a bedroom and the couple dead in a bathroom, all from gunshot wounds. They also recovered a handgun from the scene.

The police were shocked and saddened by the incident, which they called a “horrific tragedy”.

They said they had no prior indication of any trouble or violence in the family, and that they had responded to calls at the residence on multiple occasions since the family moved in two years ago, but the nature of those calls was not disclosed.

The police also said they had not found any suicide note or motive for the killings, and that they were still investigating the case.

San Mateo family of four found dead

A family of four, including two young children, were found dead in their San Mateo home on Sunday morning in what the police believe to be a murder-suicide.

The victims were identified as Anand Sujith Henry, 42, his wife Alice Priyanka, 40, and their twin sons Noah and Neithan, 4. They lived in a $2.1 million home in the upscale Baywood Park neighborhood.

The police said they received a call from a concerned relative who had not heard from the family for a few days.

The police arrived at the residence around 9:30 a.m. and forced entry into the home after no one answered the door.

Alice Benziger was an Indian-American woman who was allegedly murdered by her husband, Anand Sujit Henry who then murdered their four-year-old twins Noaha and Nathan and then himself in the couple’s plush home in San Mateo.

Anand Sujit Henry was 38 years old and his wife Alice Priyanaka Benziger was 37 years old.

Alice Priyanka was the daughter of the late Benziger and Juliet.

Alice was a graduate of the TKM Engineering College with a degree in civil engineering.

According to her LinkedIn account, she also attended the Nanyang Technological University for a Financial Engineering degree.

She holds additional degrees from the Carnegie Mellon University – Tepper School of Business and a Master’s Degree in Data Science from the University of San Francisco.

Per her LinkedIn once again, Alice Benziger worked as a Data Scientist at Dictionary.com, a Financial Engineer with Murex in Singapore, a senior Quantitative analyst with change.org and her most recent position was as Data Scientist, Senior Data Scientist, Lead data scientist and data science manager at Zillow, all between December 2017 till her death.

Alice Benziger and her husband were both working for an IT company at the time of their death – LinkedIn asserts the company to be Logits, an in-house, generative AI company they co-founded in July 2023.

Interestingly, legal documents available online reveal Henry Anand Sujith filed for divorce (separation) from Alice Priyanka Benziger in 2016.

The documents show the marriage was dissolved in 2017, but the couple were obviously together at the time of their tragic deaths indicating they later reconciled. NBC Bay Area reported that Anand withdrew the petition.

Alice Benziger would meet her tragic death at her home in San Mateo with her husband and twin children.

According to reports, Alice’s mother Juliet had visited the family in San Mateo and left over the weekend.

However, when she got back to India, WhatsApp messages to her daughter and her Anand Henry were not answered, forcing her to reach someone else in the U.S. to contact law enforcement.Alice Benziger and Anand Henry were found inside a bathroom, according to police.

They both had gunshot wounds and a 9-millimeter pistol and a loaded magazine were found in the bathroom.

“We are confident the person responsible was located within the home,” police said in a statement.

Unnamed sources told KTVU the father (Anand) fatally shot his wife in a bathtub before turning the gun on himself.
