Jamie Cail was discovered unresponsive by her boyfriend in the early hours of Feb. 21, after he left a local bar to check on her at their home in the Virgin Islands.

When he arrived home, he saw her on the floor, police said in a statement.

She was rushed to Myrah Keating-Smith Community Health Center where doctors administered CPR, but were unable to save her.

Local authorities provided only a vague statement that Cail “succumbed to her ailment.”

Police launched a criminal investigation into her mysterious death.

This case is presently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau,” USVI police said in a statement.

In August 2023, the Virgin Islands Police Department announced Jamie Cail cause of death as a fentanyl overdose.

The cops cited an Aug. 22 autopsy report from the Virgin Islands’ medical examiner.

Jamie Cail, 42, died of “fentanyl intoxication with aspiration of gastric content,” the statement said,  meaning particles from her stomach entered her lungs.

This statement comes five months after Cail’s death, with initial police investigations having been slow as the police displayed a reluctance to share information about Swimmer Jamie Cail’s cause of death.

Over one month after her death in March, US Virgin Islands Police continued to refuse to disclose details of swimmer Jamie Cail’s autopsy despite media enquiries and pressure from her family.

A Virgin Islands Police Department spokesman told Fox News Digital on 17th March that Cail’s toxicology results were still pending, and he would have an update to share on the case later that same day.

The update never came, and the VIPD has not responded to multiple inquiries throughout the following week.

Posts by Cail’s family and friends on social media suspect something fishy in her death – with her boyfriend the main suspect.

Gary Cail, her father, posted that his family is ‘devastated’ and ‘shook to the core’ by the death of his daughter, as friends posted several cryptic messages about the tragic swimmer’s passing.

One said that she had been ‘trying to escape’, and added that she ‘deserves justice’.

Another post said: ‘She tried to escape to start healing. Unfortunately, she didn’t make it in time. You were so close honey’.

It was followed by advice for what to do if you are in an abusive relationship, but there has been no confirmation of the circumstances surrounding Cail’s death.

In a statement, the VIPD said: ‘On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at approximately 12:08 a.m., a male left a local bar to check on his girlfriend at their residence. Upon his arrival, he discovered his girlfriend on the floor.

‘With assistance from a friend, the male was able to get the female to a nearby vehicle and transported the female to the Myrah Keating-Smith Clinic.

‘Once at the clinic, CPR was rendered and 911 was notified, however, the female succumbed to her ailment.

‘This case is presently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.

He rushed her to Myrah Keating-Smith Community Health Center where doctors administered CPR, but were unable to save her.

Thomas has a link to another American death as well. One of his accomplices in Cockayne’s death was shot in a drive-by shooting in 2006.
