Who is Tim Talty?
Tim Talty is an American chef and businessman who is the founder of the Talty protein bar.
He was born Timothy Talty some 37 years ago and started cooking at a very young age.
At the age of 10, Tim Talty started crafting soups and salad dressings from scratch in his parent’s kitchen and also learned to bake. Even at that very young age, he knew he had already found his life’s true passion – bringing happiness to people through his cooking!
Tim Talty studied for his undergrad degree at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Following his graduation, he gained valuable experience at various upscale restaurants across the country, even cooking under the guidance of a James Beard Award Winning Chef.
Tim Talty’s experience includes working as the Lead Line cook at Gramercy Park Hotel in New York in 2010, and then as a Prep Cook at Torst, also in New York in 2013. He had left his passion for three years after his last job and took the job at Torst as a prep cook as a way of ‘starting over from the bottom’.

Tim Talty left Torst after less than a year to become a private chef, working for various companies within a four-year period from 2013 till 2017.
Throughout his life, Tim Talty struggled with his weight due to his affinity for food, and he confessed being overweight always left him feeling ‘sluggish’ and ‘lacking energy’. Searching for a solution to this problem led him to find his company, Talty Bar.
In 2010, Tim decided enough was enough and joined a local CrossFit gym in pursuit of a healthier lifestyle.
In 2 ½ years, he accomplished something that once felt unreachable: losing over 80 pounds!
As his workouts continued to increase, Tim Talty began searching for nutritional products that would meet his changing needs.
Unfortunately, the market was filled with underwhelming products that did not deliver, especially for a chef.
At this point, Tim set out to create an energy bar that sourced ingredients from farmers, was easy to make and tasted great.
He even had some fun creating flavors, pulling off on old favorite that he and his Grandma would bake in the kitchen – Apple Strudel.
Hence the Talty Bar was born in 2014 – and he has since grown the company into a massive operation.
In the late 2010s, Tim Talty met a New York city doctor known as Dr Krystal Cascetti and the duo fell in love.
They were married in a beautiful wedding ceremony in 2019 and in March 2023, welcomed a beautiful baby girl.
However, tragedy was lurking in the darkness for Tim Talty and his family and we explore that tragedy next.

Police say the scene they encountered is consistent with a murder-suicide.
“The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Somers are investigating a murder/suicide in the town of Somers.
“A preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 7:00 a.m., Krystal Cascetta entered her child’s room and shot her baby and then turned the gun on herself,” the New York State police said in a statement.

Dr Krystal Cascetta and her husband, Timothy (Tim) Talty tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony held in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, in 2019.
The wedding was a ‘gorgeous ceremony, with Cascetta wearing a stunning white fishtail gown,’ – according to MailOnline.
At the time, Tim Talty revealed it took them an entire year to plan the whole wedding to the satisfaction of himself and Dr Krystal Cascetta.
The couple had met several years prior and started dating. Cascetta, a busy New York City doctor, found time to travel to Austin, Texas to spend time with Talty when they first started dating.
This likely stole his heart as he cherished that moment a lot, sharing it as a memorable time in their relationship.
After their beautiful wedding ceremony, Talty harked back to that time as she shared a photo of himself and Krystal Cascetta when she made that fateful journey to Austin.
“My Wife! It took us a year to plan and a lifetime to gather all of the wonderful people to make our wedding so special!” Tim Talty wrote.
By all indications, the wedding was very special with family and friends of Tim and Dr Krystal Cascetta making it a memorable day.
After their wedding, Dr Krystal Cascetta and her husband settled into their $1m in Somers, Westchester County, New York. The couple had purchased the home in 2021.
Dr Cascetta worked as a doctor for Mt Sinai Hospital.
In 2022, Dr Krystal Cascetta got pregnant and delivered earlier this year. It’s not clear if that was Tim Talty and Cascetta’s only child.
Sadly, she killed herself and the baby on Saturday, August 5th. The shocking news has left the world stunned and Tim Talty traumatised.
When reached for a statement, Tim Talty told Daily Mail: “Can you give us some time?”
Talty Bar
Prior to marrying Dr Krystal Cascetta and being thrust into the limelight on the back of a tragedy, Tim Talty founded his own business.
Timothy Talty runs his own energy bar company, called the Talty bar. He credits his wife with helping him improve his product by adding her medical knowledge to his culinary knowledge.
According to his website, Tim came up with the Talty bar – a protein bar – after struggling with his weight.
“After struggling with his weight, Tim experimented with nutritional products to create the ultimate protein bar, Talty gained valuable experience by working at various upscale restaurants across the country,” the website reveals.
“After trying dozens of different brands, Tim noticed a pattern. The protein bars on the market were delivering on two of the following factors, but never all three: great taste, great texture, and great ingredients.
“Tim used his culinary expertise to create a protein bar that checked all three boxes,”
The talty bar is available on online stores and offers free shipping on orders above $30.
The protein bar comes in flavours including chocolate coconut, fig and cashew, dark chocolate expresso and apple strudel.
