Mitchel Tate Musso was born on July 9, 1991, in Garland, Texas. He is the son of Katherine (née Moore) and Samuel Musso, who were involved in community theater in Dallas, Texas. 

He has two brothers – Mason Musso, who sang lead vocals in the band Metro Station, and Marc Musso, an actor. 

Musso is of Italian and English descent. He grew up in Rockwall, Texas.

From a very young age, he showed an interest in acting. 

He made his Hollywood film debut in 2003, when he was 12 years old, in Secondhand Lions, alongside his brother Marc. 

He also appeared in several other films before landing his breakthrough role on Disney Channel.

Musso’s most famous role is Oliver Oken, the best friend of Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus) and Lilly Truscott (Emily Osment) on the hit sitcom Hannah Montana. 

The show followed the adventures of Miley, who lived a double life as a normal teenager and a famous pop star.

Musso starred on Hannah Montana from 2006 to 2011, appearing in almost 90 episodes. He also reprised his role in the spin-off movie Hannah Montana: The Movie, which was released in 2009.

He played the character of Oliver who was known for his goofy humor, his crush on Hannah Montana, and his secret identity as a pop singer named Mike Standley III. He also dated Lilly in later seasons of the show.

He started singing when he recorded a cover of “Lean on Me” for the 2008 film Snow Buddies. He then signed with Walt Disney Records and released his self-titled debut album on June 2, 2009. 

The album debuted at number 19 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold over 62,000 copies in its first week of release. It featured songs such as “The In Crowd”, “Hey”, and “Shout It”.

Musso also released two extended plays: Brainstorm in 2010 and The Road to Success in 2022. He also collaborated with other artists such as Selena Gomez, Katelyn Tarver, and Tiffany Thornton. Mitchel Musso went viral worldwide after he was arrested for public intoxication and theft on Saturday, August 26th, 2023. 

According to TMZ, Musso was taken into custody by police in Rockwall, Texas after someone reported a disturbance at a local hotel.

Police were called to the scene after Musso allegedly entered the hotel and took a bag of chips without paying for it. 

When Musso was asked to pay for the chips, he reportedly became verbally abusive and left without paying. 

Musso was identified by Rockwall police outside the hotel, where he demonstrated signs of intoxication and was subsequently arrested on two counts: public intoxication and theft under $100.

A background check also revealed Musso had several outstanding traffic warrants. He was transported to the Rockwall County Detention Center and spent one night in jail. He was released Sunday afternoon after posting a $1,000 bond.

This is not the first time Musso has been arrested for alcohol-related charges. In 2011, he was arrested for driving under the influence in Burbank, California. 

For that incident, he pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 36 months of informal probation, a fine, and an alcohol education program.

Musso has not commented publicly on his recent arrest. His fans and friends have expressed their concern and support for him on social media, hoping that he will overcome his personal issues and get back on track.
