Melissa Marie Curtis MCPS is an Upper Malboro, Maryland former Middle School teacher accused of s..*.xu..*.lly abusing a male student when he was in middle school.

Curtis was a teacher in Montgomery County for about two years and during that time, taught at Lakelands Park Middle School as well as Montgomery Village Middle School.

She reportedly repeatedly abused a student when she was around 22 and he was just 14 in middle school.

She faces a number of charges related to crimes committed against a child.

The victim recently told the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCDP) that he and Melissa Marie Curtis, 31, of Upper Marlboro had sex when he was underage.

He said the relationship began in 2015 when Curtis was 22 years old and that the incidents involving her took place for several months whilst he was a student at Montgomery Village Middle School.

The alleged incidents took place while the victim was 14 years old and in the 8th grade.

Among other things, the man claims:

Curtis kissed him in a car

Melissa had s.*.x with him twice at her mother’s home in Germantown, in a bedroom and in the living room

Curtis touched his p.*.n.*.s with her feet while they were watching a movie at a theatre in Montgomery County

Melissa Marie Curtis gave him alcohol and marijuana and encouraged him to perform oral s.*.x on her, which he said did happen during her time with the MCPS.

Melissa Marie Curtis had s.**.x with him more than 20 times when he was in 8th Grade.

The MCDP’s Special Victims Investigations Division began its investigation into the allegations on Oct. 5 after the victim, now grown, came forward.

They obtained a warrant for Curtis’ arrest on Oct. 31 and sheturned herself in on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

The charges against her include s.**.xual abuse of a minor and multiple counts of third and fourth-degree s.**.xu.*.l offenses.

Detectives said they think there may be other students who had encounters with Curtis similar to what the man who contacted them described.

The Mongtomery County Police Department released a statement on the matter.

It reads: “A former Montgomery County teacher has been arrested and charged with multiple sexual offenses for engaging in sexual acts with a minor. Detectives believe there may be additional victims.

On Thursday, October 5, 2023, the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) initiated an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse by an adult male victim. The victim alleges that he had engaged in sexual acts with 31-year-old Melissa Marie Curtis of Upper Marlboro, when he was a minor.

The alleged abuse began in 2015 when Melissa Marie Curtis MCPS was 22-years-old. The incidents continued for several months while the victim was a student at Montgomery Village Middle School, and Curtis was a teacher at the same school. All of the incidents took place within Montgomery County.

A warrant for Melissa Curtis’s arrest was obtained on Tuesday, October 31, charging her with sexual abuse of a minor and multiple counts of third and fourth-degree sexual offenses.

Curtis had been a teacher for approximately two years in Montgomery County and taught at Lakelands Park Middle School as well.

SVID detectives suspect that there may be additional victims and would like to speak with them. Detectives encourage potential victims to call 240-773-5400.

Yucaipa High School’s 2007 Teacher of the Year, Tracy Vanderhulst was arrested and charged with having s.**.x with a 16-year-old in echoes of the case of Melissa Marie Curtis MCPS.

She was taken into custody and booked into the San Bernardino County detention center.

Vanderhulst is accused of engaging in s.**.x.*.al activity with a 16-year-old male student.

Yucaipa, located 10 miles east of San Bernardino, in San Bernardino County, California is a deeply conservative town.

The offending teacher has been charged with unlawful intercourse with a minor.

Her bail was set at $30,000.

Despite Tracy Vanderhulst being married, she allegedly engaged in this criminal behaviour.

The San Bernadino County Sherif’s department wrote in a statement: “On Thursday, May 18, 2023, detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Specialized Investigations Division – Crimes Against Children Detail and the Yucaipa Station investigated allegations of unlawful s.*.x.*.al intercourse with a minor by a teacher at Yucaipa High School.

Detectives identified Yucaipa High School teacher, Tracy Vanderhulst, as the suspect.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Vanderhulst was arrested and booked into Central Detention Center in San Bernardino for violation of PC 261.5(c) in lieu of $30,000 bail.

Investigators and the Yucaipa Calimesa Joint Unified School District worked cooperatively to ensure a thorough investigation into this matter was completed,”
