Michael Latt was tragically killed following a home invasion to his residence at Mid-Wilshire in Los Angeles.

Latt is believed to have been murdered by Jameela Elena Michl, 36, a homeless woman.

She snuck into his home where Michael Latt and his fiance Hannah Lovingood where both in at the time.

He reportedly shot Latt dead and was arrested at the scene as the suspected shooter.

Michael Latt fiance Hannah Lovingood holds a Bachelor of Arts in Merchandising and Marketing from FIDM – the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

Hannah Lovingood was dating Michael Latt, a popular and beloved activist and Hollywood executive who was well known for his foundation Lead with Love.

Michael Latt was shockingly killed on Monday, November 27th 2023 after a homeless woman, Jameelah Elena Michl, snuck into his Mid-Wilshire home on the 900 block of Alandele Avenue around 6 p.m.

Latt was home with his fiance Hannah Lovingood when the attack occurred.

He sadly died in the attack.

At the start of the year, Hannah revealed she had left her talent agency.

“Excited to share that I have left the talent agency I was signed with for 5 years as of January 2023. Sometimes you need to get rid of the old in order to let new opportunities flow in!” she wrote.

A few days ago, Hannah Lovingood revealed she had started a new position at Scentbird.

Following the death of Michael Latt, his family announced his passing in a statement shared to social media.

“Our beloved son, brother, grandson, fiancé Michael Latt, fell victim to a tragic act of violence Monday night,” the statement began.

“Our family, Michael’s extraordinary friends and colleagues are shattered by the profound grief of losing our Michael.

“He devoted his career to supporting others, championing organizations that raised up women and artists of color, along with leveraging storytelling, art and various mediums to create enduring change and instill communities with hope, love and inspiration.

“Michael will never be forgotten and we can all carry on his legacy of love, compassion and fierce dedication to positive and lasting change,”

Tributes poured in massively for Latt.

Jesse Williams said: “Devastating loss- Michael was a shining beacon of selfless kindness and consistency. Holding up his family, given and chosen.

“We’ve all been incredibly blessed to know him and that such goodness surrounds us still. More love,”

America Ferrara also said: “What an incredible loss for his family, friends, and the many communities he was a vital and beloved member of. Sending love to all lucky enough to have known him. 💔”

Michael Latt was born into an entertainment family and worked as a marketing agent for films.

His mother, Michell Satter is a founding senior director for Sundance Film Festival who is due to accept an honorary Oscar in January for her work on behalf of the Sundance Institute.

His brother is Franklin Latt, who is head of talent at CAA and the rep of many big stars

Latt founded the organization, Lead with Love, an initiative dedicated to creating nationwide campaigns, impact initiatives, and creative projects with celebrities, artists, brands and organizations including Netflix, the Directors Guild of America, UCLA, Sundance Film Festival and more.

Some individuals he has collaborated with include Common, Ryan Coogler, Ava DuVernay, Barry Jenkins and more. One of Latt’s recent partnerships before his death included Martin Scorsese‘s western epic, “Killers of the Flower Moon.”

Latt is also a member of “Blackout for Human Rights,” a network of entertainment professionals and artists dedicated to fighting violence and empowering communities through art.

Writing for Deadline, Ryan Fleming Jnr noted Latt was such a talented activist and executive.

“This weekend, Michael had been invited to be on the Artists Committee for the Kennedy Center Honors, and he was excited to take his support of artists to a new level of recognition,” he wrote.

Michael Latt died at the tragic age of 33 years old and left behind a fiance, Hannah Lovingood.

“He is a super sweet guy,” Avarie Shevin, Latt’s neighbor, told KTLA.

“He and his girlfriend (fiance, Hannah Lovingood) lived there with a dog and a cat. He’s just very mellow.

“I can’t wrap my brain around what could’ve happened that caused him to be shot and killed. I keep picturing his face and I cannot believe he has passed.”

“When Michael started Lead With Love, it was a perfect reflection of his whole family and my heart just breaks for them,” said actor Chris Huvane.

Who is Jameelah Elena Michl?

Jameelah Elena Michl, a homeless Los Angeles woman was arrested for the murder of Michael Latt.

Michl broke into Latt’s home where he was with his fiance Hannah Lovingood and shot him dead.

LAPD released a statement following the arrest of Jameelah Elena Michl.

“The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Bureau Homicide Detectives announce the arrest of a homicide suspect wanted for the death of a 33-year-old man.

2On November 27, 2023, around 6:00 p.m., Wilshire Area patrol officers responded to a “Shooting Just Occurred” radio call in the 900 block of Alandele Avenue.

“When officers arrived, they discovered the resident of the home had been shot by an intruder. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

“The suspect remained at the location and was identified as Jameelah Elena Michl, a 36-year-old resident of Los Angeles.

“Michl was booked for 187(A) PC – Murder and is being held on $3,000,000 bail, booking number 6717633. Michl’s vehicle, which was her primary residence, was booked into evidence as well.

“Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is urged to contact West Bureau Homicide Investigators at (213) 382-9470. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (877-527-3247). Los Angeles PD released a statement on the murder,”
