His real name was born John Kennedy Kanu. Bros Jay Kay was born in the 90s, although his exact age, birthday and date of birth are not currently available. He is from Abia City in Abia State, Nigeria.

The comedian had his early education in Abia. He attended Victory High School before moving to Port Harcourt for his tertiary education.

He attended the University of Port Harcourt where he studied Digital Film and Video Production.
