Nollywood actor, Obinna Nwafor, popularly known in the movie industry as Saint Obi, is dead after a protracted battle with illness.
He reportedly died early in the week after battling an undisclosed illness for several years with no successful treatment. he was 57 years of age.
The actor relocated to Jos for further treatment of the ailment that had kept him in and out of the hospital for over two years to no avail.
His body has been deposited at the morgue at Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).
Nigerians are shocked over the news of Saint Obi being dead and many heartfelt reactions have surfaced on social media.

According to some reports, there has been a delay in announcing Saint Obi’s death despite it being close to a week since he passed.
This has been attributed to a decision by the family who prefer to keep things under wraps.
Meanwhile, the Actors Guild of Nigeria is yet to make a statement as the family reportedly have a little disagreement hence the delay to make a formal announcement
Saint Obi Protracted Illness
According to reports,Saint Obi had a protracted illness for years and eventually succumbed to it.
The undisclosed protracted illness forced Obi to relocate to Jos, the Plateau State capital for further treatment of the ailment that had kept him in and out of the hospital for over two years.
Unfortunately, that move could not save him either.
Protracted illness meaning is a longtime illness that continues to bother you after receiving several types of treatments.
Saint Obi’s protracted illness is described as such because it kept him in and out of hospital for two good years!
Obinna Nwafor listen (born November 16, 1965 popularly known as Saint Obi, was a Nigerian actor, film producer and film director.
Saint Obi is known for his roles in Candle Light, Sakobi, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Festival of Fire, Executive Crime and Last Party.
He majored in theatre arts at the University of Jos.
Saint Obi came into the acting scene in 1996, after doing a commercial for Peugeot on NTA. He has starred in over 60 movies.
In 2001, Saint Obi produced his first movie titled Take Me to Maama, where he starred as Jerry, alongside Ebi Sam, Rachel Oniga, Nse Abel and Enebeli Elebuwa.
