A Nigerian woman in Canada, PhD student Damilola Ogunmuko, has called out a racist old woman from Canada who accused her of stealing her phone.
Damilola shared a video to social media showing the old lady and calling on Canadian authorities to do something about her racism.
According to her explanation, she was at Square One in Mississauga when the incident occurred.
She narrated that two elderly Canadian ladies appeared to have misplaced their phone and predictably, one of them decided to blame the Black lady standing beside them.
She said she even accepted to be searched to allay their fears but even after the search turned up nothing, one of the old women kept accusing her and hurling racist slurs.
Eventually, the phone was found on a counter and one of the two old ladies apologised but the one who racially abused her refused to.

This story bears similarities to an incident also involving a Nigerian man in Canada.
The man, Adeola Omo Adeyemi, exposed the racist practices of Canadian airline company Flair Airlines after his wife suffered an ordeal.
Adeola revealed that a white woman stole his wife’s seat on Flair Airlines flight F8804 from Vancouver to Calgary on Friday, April 14th 2023.
Despite the clear theft of the seat which he had booked for his wife, the Airline did nothing to move the trespasser from his wife’s seat and instead tried to bully her to accept a separate seat.
