Nigerian Artists Are Successful Because Of Their Huge Population – Stonebwoy

Ghanaian dancehall act, Stonebwoy, has caused quite a stir after claiming Nigerian artists are mainly successful due to their country’s large population.

Speaking in an interview with the Breakfast Club radio show in America, Stonebwoy who has a great relationship with Nigerian acts said the success of Nigerian musicians is largely down to their nation’s huge population.

He however went on to give props to Nigerian acts as hardworking, creative and other compliments.

Stonebwoy also pointed out that most Nigerian artists spend a lot of their time in Ghana finding inspiration.

“It’s just recently that some of our [Ghanaian] musicians had distribution deals with Sony and Universal music. Our local musicians are really putting in their best and I believe that with them, they’ll rock shoulders with their Nigerian colleagues in the music industry.

Interestingly, every of their top-lister, find inspiration in Ghana. Burna says it often, Wizkid literally lives in Ghana, Davido is like a brother that’s 24/7 we’re together. We’re all playing our individual roles together out there we cannot all be in the front seat.” he said.

The popular Reggae/Dancehall artiste made his debut on the popular Breakfast Club show on New York-based Power FM on Tuesday, January 31st 2023.

The award-winning musician opened up about the growth of the Afrobeat genre, the impact it has made in Africa and other yet-to-be-explored genres of music on the continent.

The singer also went on to speak about his career, his life-threatening accident, his scuffle with Shatta Wale, and other interesting topics.

Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy, is a Ghanaian Afropop, dancehall and reggae musician. He is the CEO of Burniton Music Group.

Stonebwoy won the Best International Act: Africa category at the 2015 BET Awards and Artist of the Year at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards.

The Ghanaian has a great friendship with Nigerian superstar, Davido, and recently made headlines when he got the crowd at a fan festival in Qatar to pay tribute to Davido’s late son, Ifeanyi.

Stonebwoy and Davido also have a single, Activate, which is popular in both Ghana and Nigeria.
