A 38-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested over assault and attempted rape after attacking a young woman in Athens, Greece.
According to reports, the young lady escaped the ill-fated attack and police were called who managed to arrest the culprit.
Greek publication protothema reports: “A Nigerian, attacked a young woman and tried to rape her using his fingers. Fortunately, the girl reacted and managed at the last moment to escape from the clutches of the African rapist , who was arrested by the Police .
“The appalling incident took place today at 02:30 in the morning . The girl was at the junction of Ermou and Agios Filippou streets, one of the central points of the center, near Abyssinia square, when suddenly the 38-year-old hot-blooded African man with a wild disposition jumped in front of her.
“Taking his victim, the Nigerian , by surprise , he grabbed her and tried to place his fingers on her genitals to rape her. The girl resisted, screamed and ran, as a result of which they called for help while passing by and a little while later the African rapist fell into the net of the police.
“The 38-year-old was taken to the Acropolis Security Department , where a case was filed against him for attempted rape,”
Meanwhile, a Nigerian man in the UK allegedly beat his wife to death for seeking divorce.
A lawyer who was handling the divorce for the woman revealed the shocking news in a post on social media.
According to him, the woman, simply identified as Hope, hired his services to help her file a divorce application at the Ikorodu High Court in Lagos.
The lawyer, Bolanle Cole said the victim’s father had contacted him that his daughter wants to divorce her husband, and when she did, he filed the petition in court.
However, the two families and a pastor in the UK all got involved to amicably settle the issue and convinced the woman to stay in her marriage.
After she discontinued the divorce action, her angry husband allegedly struck her, at a time she was five months pregnant.
She reportedly died from the attack and her father is now seeking justice in the UK.
