Idris was born in Peckham, South-East London, and is of Nigerian descent.

After playing football and rugby at school, he ended up earning a degree in theatre, film and television studies from Brunel University London.

The 31-year-old actor got his first steps in professional acting in theatre and performed at London’s Royal National Theatre before pursuing roles in film and television.

Damson landed his first major television role in the FX crime drama Snowfall as the character of a drug dealer Franklin Saint.

He is known for his role in the 2021 Netflix sci-fi Outside the Wire alongside Marvel actor Anthony Mackie (stars in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier).
