A Nigerian national identified as one Nwosu Echezoma was arrested by police in India on Monday, February 13th 2023.
The Nigerian allegedly had 15 grams of heroin on his person when he was arrested in Barara in the Ambala district of the Indian state of Haryana, a Times of India report revealed.
Cops said on February 9, an Indian national Surajpal Singh of Sirsa was caught with 8.78 grams of heroin.
Interrogation revealed he had purchased the drugs from one Nigerian.
Police investigations acting upon that information led them to arrest Nwosu Echezoma.
The Nigerian reportedly holds a BPharma degree from a college in Mulana, Ambala.
His arrest comes on the heels of several similar arrests of Nigerians in India last week.
On Monday, February 7th 2023, two Nigerians were arrested in India for duping over 60 women out of tens of millions of rupees by using matrimonial sites.
The suspects were dentified as Martin Valentom and Tony Ifeanyi, police said, adding that they were staying on rent in Delhi’s Suraj Vihar and Mohan Garden respectively. Police also recovered 11 mobile phones, one laptop and six passports from their possession.
On Friday, February 10, 2023, two Nigerians, Obi Alex and Odua Christopher Chukwudi alias Sunny, were arrested in India for allegedly duping several women after befriending them on matrimonial and dating apps.
The suspects were arrested from Delhi and Gurugram.
