Nigerian Arrested With Drugs Worth N7.8m In Thane City

Police in India have arrested a Nigerian national and seized drugs worth more than Rs 14 lakh (N7.8m) from his possession in Maharashtra’s Thane city, an official said on Thursday.
 
Inspector Vikas Ghodke of the Crime Unit V said acting on a tip, a police team laid a trap near a hotel on the Ghodbunder Road on Tuesday evening and caught the Nigerian when he arrived with with the narcotics.

The foreigner, Paul Chukvu (48), currently residing in Nalla Sopara in adjoining Palghar district, was found in possession of 32 grams of cocaine and 0.22 grams of LSD (an illegal street drug), with their combined valued pegged at Rs 14,01,940, he said.

An offence under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act) was registered at the Kasarwadavali police station, the official added.

Meanwhile, five Nigerian suspects were declared wanted for the murder of Mr. Alexander Chukwuebuni (AKA Boye), who was brutally murdered, at around 10 PM on Saturday, 18th March 2023, in the Sandton area of Johannesburg.

Christopher Eborson (Keke Oduma), Kenny Eborson (AKA Ehis), Alvin, Olalekan (AKA Hacker), and Osaze Izegbe (AKA Osas) are declared wanted by the South African Police and the Nigerian Task Force Committee.

According to unverifiable reports, it was alleged that the victim was murdered because of an affair with one of the suspect’s partner.

Another report alleges that one of the suspects has fled to Nigeria.

The Nigerian community is requesting the suspects to present themselves immediately for further investigation at Sandton Police Station.
