Who is Zepvontay Tafili? Missing Boy Found Dead, Family Starts Gofundme

Zepvontay Tafili, a 7-year-old Australian boy from Brisbane who went missing Saturday has been found dead in a tragic turn of events.

Zepvontay ‘Uni’ Tafili was last seen on Queens Road, in Kingston, Logan, about 5pm Saturday.

Police said specialist divers found the body of the boy on Sunday morning.

Queensland Police posted Saturday about the disappearance of Zepvontay.

“The Queensland Police Service is seeking urgent public assistance to locate a 7-year-old boy who went missing from a Kingston address earlier this afternoon, December 16, who may be at significant risk,” the initial statement read.

“The boy was last seen at an address around 5pm and has not been seen since,”

Police revealed that the boy is at greater risk due to a medical condition that makes him non-verbal.

“Police are concerned for his welfare due to the boy’s young age and he has a medical condition where he is non-verbal.

“Officers, along with the assistance of Polair, are searching the area to try to locate the boy,”

Queensland Police encouraged residents to check their properties to discover if Zepvontay might be hiding or seeking shelter.

The statement continued: “Residents in the area are urged to check their properties, including any structures or sheds, in case he is hiding or seeking shelter.

“Anyone with information that could help locate the boy, is urged to contact police,” the statement concluded.

Family members and people who knew the family also took to social media to seek help for finding Zepvontay Tafili.

Sadly, police confirmed Sunday that he had been found dead.

An update to the earlier statement read: “The body of a 7-year-old boy reported missing from Kingston yesterday, December 16, has been located.

“The media and public are thanked for their assistance.

“Police are providing support to the family, who have requested privacy during this difficult time,”

Following his passing, a Gofundme was also started to raise money to help the family of the missing boy.
