Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has sadly lost his first son, Kambilichukwu Yul-Edochie, after he slumped and died whilst playing football with friends.

Yul Edochie’s son’s painful death occurred in the evening of Wednesday, March 29th 2023.

According to the blogger, Linda Ikeji, Kambilichukwu had read throughout the night on Tuesday in preparation for his exams on Wednesday.

After his examination on Wednesday, he joined his friends to play football. While playing, he slumped and developed a seizure. He was immediately rushed to the Mother and Child hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The shocking news has stunned social media users who remain incredulous to now.

In reaction, fans wrote online: “God forbid oo chai,” one fan said.

Kai, this is heartbreaking 💔” another fan said.

“I pray it’s just a rumor 😢,” another fan added.

Kambilichukwu Leo Yul-Edochie, also known as Kambi Yul Edochie, born January 4th, 2007, was the eldest son of popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, and his first wife, May Yul-Edochie.

Affectionately known as Kambi, he was the second-born child of Yul Edochie and May, but their firstborn son.

Yul Edochie son, Kambi’s date of birth was January 4th, 2007. He is 16 years of age.

Kambi celebrates his birthday on 4th January every year, and indeed turned 16 on the 4th of January 2023 when his parents took to social media to celebrate him.

Sadly, Kambilichukwu lost his life a couple of months after this birthday when he slumped and died whilst playing football with friends.

A source who spoke to Vanguard on condition of anonymity revealed that Yul has confirmed Kambilichukwu’s death at the time this report was filed.

May’s sister who was at the scene said the boy read throughout the night preparing for his exam today.

After his exam in school, he joined his mates to play football and that’s when he developed a seizure and was rushed to Mother and Child Hospital. All efforts by the doctors to resuscitate him proved abortive.

Yul Edochie’s son’s burial was held on Tuesday,  April 24, 2023.

His parents are famous Nollywood legend Pete Edochie and Josephine Edochie.

The actor originally hails from Anambra State, but was born and bred in Lagos State.
