Who was Yazmeen Williams? Woman Found Dead in Sleeping Bag in New York

A person of interest has been arrested following the gruesome death of a woman found inside a sleeping bag in Manhattan.

Yazmeen Williams, 31, was found dead Friday, July 5th in a sleeping bag in front of 207 East 27th St.

Police said Williams was shot in the head before she was wrapped in a plastic bag and put in the sleeping bag.

Surveillance video recovered by detectives shows a man in an electric wheelchair dragging her body to where it was eventually found. Eyewitnesses say the body was left with the trash on the street.

The man was arrested Monday in an emotionally charged moment as gathered crowds attempted to attack him while he was being wheeled into an ambulance on an EMS gurney.

According to ABC7, the incensed crown surged forward and hit the man in police custody before he was safely whisked away.

He was later identified as 55-year-old Chad Irish. He has been charged with concealment of a human c*rpse.

According to her mother, Yazmeen studied criminal justice at Buffalo State University and had wanted to go back to school to get her masters degree and go to law school.

“She was beautiful, she was sweet, she was college-educated, she was just a good person,” said Yazmeen’s aunt Nisha Ramirez.
