Who was Michelle Yaeger? Mom and Two Daughters Dead in Fiery I-270 Crash in St Louis

A Missouri mom and her two daughters died after a fiery crash on northbound I-270 around 8 a.m. on Friday.

Michelle Yaeger, 45, from Lemay, Mo, and her two daughters, Natalie Mikenna, 10, and Kenzi, 7, were killed when Yaeger’s SUV struck a truck hauling lumber that was pulled over onto the inside shoulder of the ramp from I-55 to I-270.

The SUV caught fire, killing Yaeger and her youngest daughter. The eldest was taken to the hospital after the truck driver managed to extricate her from the car but was later declared deceased.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the truck hauling lumber pulled over onto the inside shoulder of the ramp due to the driver fearing there was an issue keeping the load secure.

After the SUV struck his rear, the driver jumped out to help out but the car quickly caught fire.

“He was able to get out and he helped to remove the one juvenile from the vehicle but was unable to get to the other two to do any kind of life saving measures to them,” Cpl. Dallas Thompson from Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

The crash closed I-270 for at least an hour. Thompson said the area between the two highways frequently sees crashes.

Michelle Yaeger was a Dental Assistant at Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills, Wentzville & Arnold, according to her Facebook profile.

She was a loving mom who doted exclusively on her two beautiful girls.

May they rest in peace.
