Larry Irwin Kellogg, 49, has been identified as the pilot of a small plane which crashed in Utah on Sunday.
Utah County Sheriff’s Deputies reported to the site of a plane crash near Homansville Pass Road, near Eureka, at the south end of Cedar Valley.
They found one deceased person in the ruins of the crash.
“(It was a) nasty crash here,” said Sgt. Spencer Cannon, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office. “It doesn’t look like there was any chance that the pilot could survive the crash, and that’s what the ultimate outcome was.”
Investigators are working to piece together exactly what happened.
“We don’t have anybody that we know of who witnessed the crash. We may have identified someone who saw the plane an hour or so before the crash,” Sgt. Cannon said.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash and identified the aircraft as a 2007 Fantasy Air SRO Allegro.
Cannon asked that anyone who might have seen the plane or the crash to contact the sheriff’s office.
