Who was Kathryn Elizabeth Lain? Boyd Woman, Two 9-year-old Girls, and 66-year-old Man Dead in Fiery Crash

Four people were killed Sunday afternoon during a head-on-crash between a car and pickup truck in Parker County.

The four included two nine-year-old girls as well as Kathryn Elizabeth Lain, 29, of Boyd, TX, and Daniel Schilb, 66, of Springtown.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2023 Subaru Legacy was traveling south on FM 51, about three-tenths of a mile south of Friendship Road. The Legacy veered into the northbound lane and hit a 2021 Ford F-150, a DPS spokesperson said in a news release.

Investigators said they don’t yet know why the car veered into oncoming traffic.

The driver of the Legacy, 29-year-old Kathryn Elizabeth Lain, of Boyd, died in the crash along with three passengers in the Ford F-150.

The passengers who died were two 9-year-old girls from Springtown and 66-year-old Gregory Daniel Schilb, also of Springtown, DPS said.

The driver of the F-150, 43-year-old Autumn Rae Reed, of Springtown, was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth with serious injuries.
