Tony Cammarota, an associate pastor at the Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, has been removed by the church.
The church announced his dismissal in an email sent to congregants Tuesday.
According to the church, his removal came after he confessed to a ‘moral failure’.
“He is deeply remorseful but his sin disqualifies him from serving on our staff as a pastor,” the email continued.
Cammarota had worked at the church as an associate pastor for over 17 years.
Both the fired pastor and church leadership have refused to clarify the nature of the ‘moral failure’.
“…Please guard against giving the Devil any foothold for more damage to our church through unnecessary speech and speculation,” the email warns congregants.
“This is a sad day and we don’t want the Devil making it worse through any one of us in the days ahead.”
