Who is DaniLeigh? She is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer, choreographer and influencer who has been arrested after being involved in a DUI.

Professionally known as DaniLeigh, her real name is Danielle Leigh Curiel.

DaniLeigh was born on December 20th 1994 in Miami, Florida, USA. Her parents come from the Dominican Republic, making Dani Leigh of Hispanic ethnicity.

She is 28 years old.

She started off her career proper as a backup dancer to singers such as Pharell Williams and Nelly Furtado, after moving to Los Angeles. She also formed part of the pop duo Curly Fryz with her sister.

Earlier, she gained fame by posting vocal covers of songs such as Musiq Soulchild’s “So Beautiful” on YouTube.

DaniLeigh has always been musically inclined. She started dancing at age 12 and singing at age 14. Although initially too shy to perform publicly. Leigh changed this after receiving positive feedback to her music.

A massive project, DaniLeigh’s The Plan featured appearances from rappers YG, Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, and YBN Nahmir.

She’s also made a cameo appearance in Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer” music video and choreographed for DaBaby’s music video “BOP on Broadway”.

DaniLeigh was arrested in May 2023 due to her involvement in a DUI (driving under influence) accident. She’s accused of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and injuring a person while driving under the influence after she hit him on his moped. She apparently attempted fleeing the scene of the crash after the accident.

She was booked on three felony charges including leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury.

The 28-year-old singer and dancer has a prior involvement with law enforcement when she was charged with simple assault in November 2021 after her baby daddy, rapper DaBaby, accused her of striking him.

Singer-turned-influencer DaniLeigh was arrested for DUI in Miami on Tuesday, May 30th 2023 – accused of being involved in an alleged hit-and-run that left one person seriously injured.

She was taken into custody around 8:15am Tuesday at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center near Miami International Airport

According to reports, Dani was seen by several witnesses driving at a high rate of speed and swerving in and out of lanes near Miami Beach.

She eventually struck somebody who was on a motorized scooter, dragging him for about a block. Somebody flagged down a nearby officer, who then initiated a stop.

The victim has reportedly suffered a serious back injury.

In the police report sighted by TMZ, the cop describes Dani as smelling of alcohol. The officer conducted field sobriety tests which she completely failed, as well as a Breathalyzer – which returned with readings of 0.145 and 0.148 – nearly twice the legal limit.

After this, she was booked and sent to jail where she’s been booked with three felony charges – driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury, and DUI damage to property.

According to the Daily Mail, the victim was taken to Ryder Trauma Center in Miami where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, including a kidney laceration and a spinal fracture.

Meanwhile, DaniLeigh was released on a $9,500 bond.

In 2021, Dani was charged with two counts of simple assault after DaBaby called police claiming she had assaulted him.

DaBaby livestreamed himself trying to kick his ex-partner out of his North Carolina home, saying he was recording her ‘for his safety.’

DaniLeigh herself later shared her own video of police officers responding to DaBaby’s call on social media.

She cried out that DaBaby was trying to kick her and then three months old Velour out of the house.

‘It’s so unfair this situation because this whole time I’ve been nothing but straight with this man and tried, tried, tried.’

‘Nothing but genuine pure love for this man from the jump,’ she told the cops.

“I feel like I really did love him so much that I was just giving it all to him … I didn’t even focus on my career,” she added, while stressing that their relationship is “definitely over.” Asked if she would do anything differently, DaniLeiggh replied, “Yeah, I think the first time he showed me, or cheated on me… I would’ve left him.”
