Who is Chelsea Johnson? Woman Killed in Amazon Warehouse Shooting in Chesterfield

Chelsea Johnson has been identified as the woman who was killed in the parking lot of a Chesterfield Amazon warehouse on Friday.

Chesterfield Police were dispatched to a shooting that took place in the 1600 block of Bellwood Road around 9:34 p.m.

When they arrived, officers found 33-year-old Chelsea R Johnson of Richmond with gunshot wounds.

She died on the scene.

On Saturday, June 1, 31-year-old Darryl Charity Jr of the 4100 block of North Avenue in Richmond, was arrested with help from the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Charity was charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to police.

He is being held at the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.

According to reports, Charity and Johnson were dating and were living together.

Johnson’s sister Yoland Robertson said of her sister: “How do I describe her life to someone who’s never met her?” Robertson said in a statement. “With 7 words: The best sister anyone could ask for.”

She said Johnson was a “caring mother, a goofball, and a fighter.”

According to court records, Charity Jr. pleaded guilty to a felony drug crime last year and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but the sentence was suspended.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been organized for Johnson’s family to cover upcoming expenses.

“It is with a heavy heart that this request is being made on behalf of a daughter, sister, mother, cousin and friend,” Deasha Williams and Yolanda Robertson wrote in the GoFundMe post.

“This fundraiser is being created not only to help us bury a loved one taken from us by violence but also to make sure that her beautiful children left behind will know they have the support of the community at their side,” they added.
