Alyssa Wolf Wroblewski, the mother of a 4-month-old baby who was killed after her family took a boating trip during 120-degree heat has come under fire.
Alyssa took her 4-month-old daughter Tanna Rae on the boating trip to Lake Havasu despite warning of excessive heat.
Baby Tanna became unconscious during the trip and was rushed to Havasu Regional Medical Center and then airlifted to Phoenix Regional Hospital.
Tragically, she did not survive.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Tanna Rae Wroblewski succumbed to heat-related injuries on July 5.
“Detectives responded and investigation is ongoing,” agency spokesperson Anita Mortensen said in a written statement.
The investigation would determine if Tanna’s parents might face charges.
Alyssa posted a tribute to her daughter on social media, but angry social media users questioned her judgment on taking a trip with a baby despite warnings of a heat wave.
“These are the last photos I took of you before you left us,” Alyssa Wroblewski wrote in the tribute post.
“Your smile radiated joy … I never thought there would be a day in my life without you.”
Temperatures reached a record 120 degrees in the area during the heat wave.
“I honestly can’t even find the words to express my feelings right now. This is just devastating,” one Facebook commenter wrote in response to her tribute.
“What were you thinking? There was an excessive heat warning that day. Extremely careless and irresponsible.”
The family has started a GoFundMe for Baby Tanna.
