Whilst many Nigerians are wondering what happened to Mr Ibu in this instance, this isn’t the first time the popular actor has fallen ill.

Mr Ibu suffered a sickness many years ago that also left him in very ill health, although he said he was poisoned at the time.

Speaking at Omega Power Ministry after recovering from a near death illness, he disclosed how a jealous family member poisoned him and his elder brother.

“I was poisoned, but not at an entertainment event in Abuja. I was poisoned in my home town, and then I journeyed to Abuja, where the poison affected me and grounded me,” he said.

He added: “I was poisoned by another person who doesn’t like me. He administered the poison to me, I tried to treat myself with local herbs but somebody told me not to approach the poison wrongly unless I was prepared to go to the other side.

“I was seeing myself going close to the other side but God said no.

“The same boy poisoned my elder brother. We are the same family but since God started helping me, I started buying things, buying motors, dashing people, build houses, he wasn’t happy. He was really looking for means to eliminate me but God said no.”

“It’s a long story because the sickness didn’t start today, all these while we’ve been running around, going from here to there, from one diagnosis to another, mentioned different names of sicknesses, I was even tired of the results, how could all these aliments be in one person’s body.”

That was the second time the life of the comic actor has been allegedly threatened through poisoning by his “kinsmen.”

In 2020, Mr Ibu put a message out that his kinsmen paid his domestic staff to poison him because of what he has been able to achieve for himself.

In an interview with a Nigerian TV station, Nigezi TV, Mr Ibu had earlier recounted how he was kidnapped and poisoned at an event in Nnewi in Anambra State.

He also noted that his protruding stomach was a result of the poison.

Mr Ibu has battled multiple sickness and it appears to have returned.
