Who is Shawn Patrick Moore? Man Arrested for Stabbing and Killing Seattle Chef Corey Evan Bellett

Shawn Moore, a 26-year-old man was arrested in Eatonville for the murder of Seattle Chef Corey Bellett.

Bellett was stabbed and killed at the Capitol Hill Link light rail station on Saturday.

Moore fled after the attack in Seattle and was arrested two days later on Monday, about fifty miles away from the scene of the crime in Eatonville.

He appeared in court Tuesday on charges of second-degree murder and witness tampering.

Bond was set at $3m.

The incident occurred on Saturday at the Capitol Hill Station light rail platform, the day before Mother’s Day.

A 37-year-old man, identified as Corey Bellett, was stabbed and killed by a man later identified as Shawn Moore.

Moore was seen on Sound Transit security video fleeing with the knife still in hand following the assault.

According to Seattle Police, Bellett brushed by Moore and another man as he moved down the station escalator Saturday evening.

Police say Moore and the man accompanying him then confronted Bellett on the platform and a fight ensued.

Moore then pulled out a knife and began stabbing Bellett.

Police say Bellett fell onto the northbound track where Moore allegedly continued the assault before fleeing the station.

The second man later contacted police to provide information about Shawn Moore.

Bellett was a well-known chef in Seattle, working at Harry’s Fine Foods as a sous chef.

His family started a GoFundMe to raise cash for his surviving family.

Gabrielle Tousignant who described herself as the best friend of Corey’s wife, wrote on GoFundMe: “Corey was a friend, a son, a brother, a new and deeply loving husband, an incredible chef who was wildly creative, talented, and insanely hardworking. A silly, energetic goofball who loved and supported his friends and family deeply.

“We want to do all we can to lift his family up in these times, and remove as much of the burden from his incredible wife as we possibly can,”
