Raymond Sims, 70, has been identified as the victim of a shooting in East Liberty, Pittsburgh shooting that killed one person.
A Pittsburgh man was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the head and neck inside a vehicle at the corner of North Highland and Penn Avenue at about 4:20 p.m. Saturday.
Witnesses told police that a man, dressed in black, walked up and shot into the vehicle from the passenger side at a busy intersection in the neighborhood’s business district, police said.

The man then fled.
Police and medics were then called to the area where they found the man dead in his vehicle.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Raymond Sims, 70 years old.
Police said they are reviewing footage from the multiple cameras in the area and that the department’s violent crime unit is investigating.
The death of Raymond Sims in a car echoes a similar tragedy that occurred recently when a mother and her daughter were shot in cold blood in their car.
Chasity Nunez was an American healthcare professional, graduate student and mother who was killed alongside her daughter in Worcester, MA.
Chasity Nunez and her 11-year-old daughter Zella Aria Milton were sitting in a parked car on a Worcester street when they were shot and killed.
This occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 5th 2024.
Chasity was a University of Maryland graduate student and a healthcare professional at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
She is a former Army National Guard member.
Chasity Nunez had two daughters, one of whom, Zella, was unfortunately with her when she was shot in Worcester.
East Liberty is a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s East End.
It is bordered by Highland Park, Morningside, Stanton Heights, Garfield, Friendship, Shadyside and Larimer, and is represented on Pittsburgh City Council by Councilwoman Deborah Gross and Rev. Ricky Burgess.
