Nigerian Chinny Okolidoh Joins BBC as Director of Diversity & Inclusion

Chinny Okolidoh, an experienced and well-established Diversity and Inclusion professional, is set to join the BBC to lead the Corporation’s diversity strategies.

Chinny Okolidoh, an experienced and well-established Diversity and Inclusion professional, is set to join the BBC to lead the Corporation’s diversity strategies.

Chinny will be responsible for ensuring Diversity and Inclusion is at the heart of everything the BBC does, and the Corporation accurately reflects the audiences it serves, both on and off air. The role combines BBC Workforce and Creative Diversity responsibilities to ensure strategic oversight of all the BBC’s diversity commitments.

Leading and developing the BBC’s Diversity and Inclusion team, Chinny will collaborate with Directors and their teams across the BBC, including in Content, News, Studios and the Nations, to drive best practice.

She will also oversee the development and implementation of initiatives related to on-air and production talent representation, commissioning guidelines, diversity and inclusion training programmes and metrics to measure progress.

Chinny, currently Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at L’Oréal (UK & Ireland), has a strong track record of creating inclusive work cultures and has led diversity and inclusion strategies at a range of organisations.

Chinny Okolidoh is a passionate advocate for Diversity & Inclusion. She has led transformative Diversity & Inclusion strategies in various organisations that have improved hiring, marketing and creative practices and created more inclusive work cultures. She is currently the Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at L’Oréal (UK & Ireland) and previously worked as the Global Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Depop. Earlier in her career, Chinny worked in Finance where she held various roles and led several Diversity & Inclusion programmes and initiatives.

Chinny also sits on the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee of the British Beauty Council, which seeks to improve diversity, equity and inclusion in the UK’s Beauty and Wellness industries.
