Nigerian Arrested With N1.1m Worth Of Crystal Meth In Angeles City, Philippines

Nigerian Emmanuel Chinedu Ejieke was arrested by police in the Philippines with crystal meth (shabu) worth P136,000 (over N1.1m).

The arrest happened during an anti-illegal drug operation late Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Ninoy Aquino village in Angeles City.

Angeles City police director Colonel Juritz Rara identified in a statement the arrested suspect as Emmanuel Chinedu Ejike, 27, of Camachiles village in this city.

Rara said the Nigerian is a “high-value individual” on the police list of drug personalities.

He had on his person crystal meth worth 136,000 Philippine pesos (which translates to over a million Naira!) when the police arrested him.

The raid went down after 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Angeles City police, with operatives from the province and region, conducted the buy-bust operation against the suspect.

Lawmen allegedly confiscated from Ejike some 20 grams of suspected shabu and recovered the marked P1,000-bill placed atop the nine pieces of “boodle” (play) P1,000 bills.

Emmanuel Chinedu Ejieke, the Nigerian arrested with crystal meth in the Philippines faces charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The operation was coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Ejieke’s arrest comes on the heels of the recent arrest of a Nigerian national for drug peddling in Kerala, India.

Charles Diffodile, was arrested Sunday, February 5th 2023 in Kozhikode, Kerala, India, for trafficking drugs.

Diffodile, who was said to be trafficking drugs from Bengaluru to Kerala, was arrested with 55 grams of MDMA (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine) on his person.

He was distributing narcotics to many areas inside Kerala. Police were investigating a drug case which led to the arrest of Charles from Bengaluru, Karnataka. He was on bail after another narcotic case,” Times of India quoted the police as saying.
