Who is Keith Kiminski? Galloway Township Man Arrested After Stabbing Police Officers

A 30-year-old Galloway Township man identified as Keith Kiminski has been arrested after stabbing two police officers in the face!

Officers with the Galloway Township Police Department were called to a residence on the evening of Sunday, April 7th 2024 in reference to several 911 hang-up calls.

Upon getting to the residence, they were speaking to the mother of the suspect when he rushed out of nowhere and attacked the officers with a knife.

Keith Kaminski managed to stab one officer, Erik Tarnow on the right side of his face with a folding pocket knife.

The violent attack did not deter Officer Tarnow who took the suspect to the ground and along with his partner Officer Hunter Thomas, wrestled with Kiminski to get him subdued.

Eventually, after several minutes of tussling and with the arrival of backup, the officers were able to subdue the suspect but not before sustaining serious injuries.

Officer Tarnow was transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center City Division where he underwent surgery for his injuries.

Tarnow suffered a significant cut on the side of his face and is currently in stable condition, according to the Galloway Township PD.

Meanwhile, his partner, Officer Thomas was treated for a minor head injury and released the same evening.

“Keith Kiminski was charged with numerous offenses including attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and resisting arrest,” according to a statement from the Galloway Township PD.

He was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a future court date.

“This incident is another reminder of the dangers that our police officers face on a daily basis”, said Chief Richard D. Barber.

“We are grateful that Officer Tarnow is recovering well, and our department will be here to fully support Erik and his family.”

The statement expressed gratitude to other state agencies who assisted with the incident including the Pleasantville Police Department, Absecon Police Department, Atlantic City Police Department, Galloway Township EMS, Atlanticare Paramedics, Stockton University Police Department, Hamilton Township Police Department, and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
