Recall that two people were found dead at a hotel in Boston’s Theater District last week.
Investigators had said previously that the man and a woman found dead in a room on the 13th floor at the Moxy Boston Downtown hotel on Monday, Feb. 26 were both shot, and a gun was found at the scene.
An update from authorities Thursday ruled the incident a murder-suicide and identified the victims.

In a chilling discovery last week, the lifeless bodies of Aanya Vinay and Keith Ashby were found in a room on the 13th floor of the Moxy Boston Downtown hotel.
The investigation, led by Boston police homicide detectives and the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office, unveiled the deaths as a murder-suicide.
Boston police determined that the man, identified as Keith Ashby, shot and killed Aanya Vinay before taking his own life.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Vinay’s death as a homicide and Ashby’s as a suicide.

What do we know of Keith Ashby of Boston?
Keith Ashby is reportedly a convicted Boston r*pist.
Back in 2007, Ashby pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated r*pe, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and single counts of kidnapping and unlawful possession of a machine gun stemming from a 2006 attack.
Ashby repeatedly r*ped and brutalized his ex-girlfriend and was sentenced to 15 years in state prison.
The Suffolk DA’s Office on Thursday confirmed that Ashby was the same man in the murder-suicide at the Moxy Boston Hotel.
A statement from the Boston PD read: “At about 12:21 PM, on Monday, February 26, 2024, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to 240 Tremont Street for a death investigation.
“On arrival, officers located two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim has since been identified as Aanya Vinay, 25, of Brookline.
“The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide. Further investigation revealed Keith Ashby, 43, of Boston, shot and killed Aanya Vinay, then killed himself, and his death has been ruled a suicide.

Aanya, hailing from Brookline, was remembered by friends and family as a person “full of love and laughter.”
Her obituary described her as a miracle who brightened everyone’s lives. She leaves behind a son, parents, and numerous other relatives.

Aanya Vinay was the unfortunate victim of Keith Ashby Boston.
An obituary of her shared online read: “She was bubbly, full of life, and always saw the good in people,” the obituary states.
“Aanya was very confident in many ways and was a direct communicator who lit up any room she entered. She loved traveling and was her mother’s companion.
“She also loved the ocean and studying marine biology,” her obituary continues.
“Aanya went out of her way to help others, which is why she aspired to become a nurse. She enjoyed volunteering for various organizations, including the hemophilia foundation, and helping the needy in any way that she could.”
Vinay’s obituary said she is survived by her son, her parents and numerous other relatives.
“Aanya was a miracle and brought a smile to everyone’s face and brightened up their lives,” her obituary continues.
“She was her parent’s lucky charm since they had her in their lives in 1998 and was their pillar of support, strength and purpose. She was so full of love and laughter and happiness and compassion for others. Her love knew no bounds.”
Last Monday afternoon, Boston police officers were alerted to the two dead bodies after a hotel worker found them in a room on the 13th floor.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the deaths a murder-suicide.
“Further investigation revealed Keith Ashby, 43, of Boston, shot and killed Aanya Vinay, then killed himself, and his death has been ruled a suicide,” Boston Police said in a statement on Thursday.

Anand Sujith Henry, a 42-year-old engineer, along with his wife Alice Priyanka and their adorable 4-year-old twins Noah and Neithan, were found dead in their home in California.
The tragic incident appeared to be a murder-suicide.
Anand Sujith Henry (42), a former Meta engineer, was originally from Kollam, Kerala, India.
He and his family had moved to the US seven years ago, where they worked as IT professionals.
Anand’s wife, Alice, was also from Kollam. Her mother had been staying with the family in California for nearly a year and had returned home just a week before the tragedy.
The couple’s twin sons, Noah and Neithan, aged 4, tragically lost their lives.
Anand is suspected to have killed his wife, Alice, killed his two minor sons before taking his own life.
Both Anand and Alice succumbed to gunshot wounds. Anand has been identified as the suspect. A legally registered 9mm handgun was found near their bodies.
Alice suffered from multiple gunshot wounds, while Anand had a single gunshot wound.
The cause of death for the minor boys is still pending pathology, but they did not die from gunfire or show signs of bodily trauma.
Police entered the house through an unlocked window after not receiving a response during a welfare check.
There was no history of violence at home, and no signs of forced entry were found.

Maher Kassem, a 63-year-old man from Tinley Park, Illinois, is at the center of a heartbreaking tragedy that unfolded in his own home, shooting and killing his wife, daughters and hilsemf.
On a fateful Sunday morning, an argument erupted within the Kassem family home.
Maher, allegedly consumed by rage, shot and killed his wife and three daughters.
The gruesome scene was witnessed by their 19-year-old son, who survived the ordeal unharmed.
After the fatal shootings, Maher Kassem dialed 911.
When officers arrived at their residence on West 173rd Place, Maher directed them to the basement, cryptically saying “they’re gone” and “everything is ok.”
He confessed to being the sole perpetrator and led police to two weapons in the house.
The surviving son recounted the events leading up to the tragedy.
He woke up to the sound of his father arguing with his 25-year-old sister.
As the argument escalated, Maher’s wife and two daughters tried to calm him down.
